twenty-fourth phase [ dictated ]

[ Everybody was gone. Everyone from home, anyway. It had been slowly coming for months but now she was all that was left. The last mutant. The last X-Man. And it sucked. In nine days she'd have been here for eight months. For most of that there'd been someone, a reason to actually keep doing everything that she did. She'd fought to keep the training going and to not give up. Now? Now she wanted to give up and she couldn't find a reason to not ]

I can walk through anything. Even here the only thing that's stopped me has been the Dead Zone. For every entrance there's an exit, even a hidden door. Maybe out further into the Dead Zone is where it's hiding and that's why we haven't found it - maybe it's further than we've been. I'd rather find it than wait to be picked off.

Hi.

[concerned Time Lord sounds concerned]

... Kitty ... what's happened?

[identity profile] cricketycricket.livejournal.com 2011-11-04 03:13 pm (UTC)(link)
[being so used to traveling to other worlds and having companions come and go, he's ... mostly immune when this sort of thing happens. mostly. at least, externally. but he's seen this kind of grief so many times during his years here that he can certainly sympathize]

I'm terribly sorry... would you care for some company?

[after a moment, there's that familiar vworping noise, and the TARDIS materializes herself neatly in a corner of Kitty's room. Five opens the door, peers out, and smiles apologetically]

It seemed a bit faster than walking, so I took the liberty. Do forgive me?

Thank you! [he smiles a little as he steps out, rolling up his hat and stuffing it into his coat pocket] A bit plain, isn't it? ... Doesn't quite match your lively personality.

No? Well, it'll come in time, I suppose. For my part - as I think you've seen - I wished for a few plants to liven up the place, and they all took on minds of their own.

Thank you. I've grown rather fond of them, myself. [pun unintended, as always]

The plants? Oh, I don't know. I wanted to brighten up the place, and I was reminded of how lovely some of the flora on Deva Loka was. Just an idle thought, really...

From here? Or from Earth? Several galaxies, in either case. Quite a lovely planet, though - mostly rainforests and caves.

I wish you could, too - that was one of my favorite bits about travelling, back home, you know. Being able to show people all those wondrous places they'd never been.
