[Having finally having had a chance to speak with Fred about his plans for Cerebro, Charles figures it's high time he spoke with his other potential assistants. He knows it's a big project, but it'll be well worth everyone's time in the long run. Sitting out on the roof, Charles clears his throat a moment, before writing a filter into his journal.]

Dr. Stantz? It's Charles Xavier. I'm not sure if your memory doppleganger told you about me, but I have a project I'm working on that I'd appreciate your help with. I've discussed it already with Fred, but it's promising to be a fairly large undertaking, so I'm looking for all the help I can get. Given what I observed in your memories, I believe you're the sort of scientist who could help me in this endeavor.

We can discuss it in person, or over the journal if you like. I'm free either way.

Yuan? It's Charles Xavier. I'm not sure if we've been properly introduced, but I have something I wish to discuss with you. I'm planning on, with help, building a device that can amplify and broadcast my telepathy, for use during crises such as what we faced with Legato and Riful. I'm wondering if I might have your permission to actually build the thing in the Peace Patrol's headquarters, for the sake of transparency toward it's purpose, as I imagine that some in the castle would want such a powerful tool regulated.

Hello chaps, I apologize for being out of contact for so long. As it turns out, researching the technology and theory behind long-range telepathic projection took much more of my attention than I'd intended. Keeping out of trouble I hope?

Anyway, the main reason I'm filtering to the both of you is to ask for your help. You both obviously have some experience with the sort of technology I'm trying to re-create here, so I'd be honored if you'd assist I, and the others helping me in making Cerebro a reality. I've had the chance to discuss the idea with Fred, and she seems to be on board, and I've contacted Dr. Ray Stantz, asking for his help as well. If there's anyone else either of you can think of who could help, by all means, don't hesitate to let me know.

Is anyone else as curious as I am as to how the castle was so thoroughly rearranged? I'm not complaining or anything, I just think it would have been a fascinating procedure to watch. Has anything like this happened before?

Basically, it's a telepathic transmitter. When used, it amplifies and broadcasts an individual's brainwaves, and in the case of a telepath, greatly expands the range of their abilities.

Oh, I'm well aware of the castle's magical nature, but even taking that into consideration, I'm still curious as to the actual process of it. Simply saying "magic did it" isn't a satisfactory explanation, at least not for me.

Yes indeed. Fred seems to think it possible, if a bit time-consuming to actually put together. Right now, my main concern is actually gathering the raw materials, and constructing the thing, once we get all of the science worked out for actually making it work.

There was a time when the towers weren't part of the castle, correct? It could be that it expands or shrinks depending on how many people live here.

I wouldn't know. The castle's elevators used to not go up quite that far, so I never had the chance to investigate those parts of the castle. That's an interesting theory though, given the nature of the magical force governing the castle, it makes sense.

Ooh, I rather like that interpretation. As though each room in the castle fits with it's neighbors, and can slide from one place to the next like a puzzle cube.

We certainly would. ...I'd want to know a little bit more about any such device first, like how possible it is to use it for less wholesome purposes. Even a mental communication system could be risky if it were filled with 'noise', I would imagine.

Of course. Everything's still in the planning stages, but once we have a firm blueprint of the device itself, you're welcome to have a look at it.

I was first introduced to Cerebro in my world, it's a device that was constructed by a student of mine for amplifying and broadcasting telepathic abilities, specifically for the purpose of locating others like myself.

It is possible to use the device for nefarious purposes, if that's one's aim. For example, if a telepath with the necessary self-control was to concentrate hard enough, they could potentially kill every person within the device's range.

Obviously, the list of telepaths I've identified with the necessary discipline to use Cerebro properly is a fairly short one. Myself, obviously, the two Doctors, and possibly Lady Galadriel. The few other telepaths in Paradisa don't possess the discipline to control their telepathy enough to even activate it, and if they tried, they would likely severely injure themselves in the attempt. A security system of some sort could be incorporated into the design, to prevent anyone from using it should they be under the effects of a loss, or someone not trusted by the Peace Patrol. I wouldn't even entertain the idea of building the machine without these measures.

Neither has anyone else, I'm finding. It makes me think that this was an isolated event, which makes me think that something else happened while we were all enjoying the autumn weather.

Indeed. It almost seems as though the castle was shaken up, so that all the rooms in the upper floors settled near the bottom. I guess we should be grateful that there are those who've taken the liberty of mapping everything for us.

Every logical method I can think of for rearranging the castle in such a short span of time seems unworkable.

Yet another example of the castle defying traditional logic, though a young lady I spoke to imagined that the rooms all fitted together like pieces of a block puzzle, and could slide around to fit elsewhere, to give the castle it's new configuration. It's a far-fetched explanation, I know, but lacking any way to actually see what happened, all we're left with is conjecture.
