[anyone who wanders out onto the castle grounds tonight is free to notice that some of the larger piles of dry leaves are on fire. the flames seem weirdly contained so that they don't spread very far--which is a good thing, considering that otherwise the whole place would probably be ablaze in minutes. as the piles burn down, more leaves drop in to replace them like it never happened. but hey. things spontaneously bursting into flames at all is kind of weird. perhaps cause for concern!

but anyone with a bit of perception can find Zelman nearby, up in the branches of a bare tree or just standing around somewhere, out of the way, hands in his pockets. he's appeased enough, though he'd rather be setting something interesting on fire. like a building. or a person. people are so funny when they're on fire. C:]

[well that's new. Dextera has seen fire before but not controlled like this. it was usually barely held back by grates on the floors of the Neuro Tower, free to burn those stupid or unlucky enough to trip and fall.

he's a curious person however, and can't help but come closer to one of the burning piles and just watch the leaves burn away. Dextera doesn't quite notice Zelman hanging around, though he has a feeling he's not alone right now.]

Hm. [if he has an audience, he might as well entertain; his eyes glow red for a moment and the fire starts to take on a life independent of its source, spiraling upwards with a precision that couldn't possibly be natural.]

[ Elena, who thought that riding horseback this evening would be a nice treat, spots the fire from a distance and ushers the mare as close as she will dare to go. The more she watches it, the more she realizes it seems to be a controlled sort of chaos. This place is so crazy. :(

She pushes back her hood and climbs off of her mount, whispering a few reassuring words to the horse to calm her before she approaches one of the piles. So, Zelman, there is a somewhat confused princess taking a gander at your handiwork. What do? ]

[he will just watch what she does from behind a tree, partly hidden but not doing much to actively hide. the horse is actually what turns him against the idea of trying to spook her, since it's already nervous enough as-is.

[Galadriel was, indeed, just wandering the castle grounds. The leaves don't seem to be giving her much trouble; if elves can walk over snow, why not over a blanket of leaves? The strange nature of the fire does draw her attention, but as she approaches she notices Zelman's presence and that seems to answer her questions well enough. She actually smiles as she looks over at him.]

[of course she notices him right away. he's leaning against a tree, but at least shifts to look at her properly. the flame nearest them crackles a little, but the rest go on as normal even when unattended.]

[lalla, derpy angel is out for a walk, and actually has her pink wings out today! hovering over the leaves is a lot easier than wading through them, and she's already tripped on every hidden tree branch on the castle grounds over the last few days.

But when she sees the fire she starts fretting and goes closer to the fire... but then backs away from it? She doesn't realize Zelman is there so she just talks to herself]

T-The fire isn't spreading?
