They are affirmatively not magic-based monsterkind. As for the spirits of the dead...it's possible, although most people don't remain dead for long in Paradisa. I have heard stories of those who die spending their two weeks among the ghosts.

I've never heard anyone else ask if the ghosts were the monster type, besides people from my own world. Where are you from?

No, it isn't. Generally, dead people return after two weeks' time. There are occasional exceptions, including those killed in the Dead Zone surrounding the castle, the area where magic, magitech, and other kinds of powers all cease to function.
