[This isn't where she went to bed. This isn't her room. Where's Scrump? Where's the smell of her sister's coffee, the picture she keeps under her pillow? Out of the bed she goes, still in her mint-colored sleeping gown.]

...Where am I? 

This isn't my house!

[A groan.] 

This doesn't look too much like an alien spaceship... I don't think that they took me from earth...

Then what's going on here?!

Appearance has nothing to do with it. What makes a detective is all in the mind.

Well... I guess so. You can still be a detective without the hat and fancy coat.

A detective is cool and calculating and observant. He can look at any scene and easily pick out the relevant evidence.
