[So here's Meowth, who, under the cover of darkness, is making like a good Pokemon thief and breaking into the animal sanctuary. Sadly, the castle wouldn't give him a giant mecha to make this as appopriately dramatic as possible and even if Jessie and James were here, he wouldn't be able to say the motto, so... Subtlety is also good. Really.
He has yet to realize the castle has inflicted a Loss on him and is more focused on picking the lock on the door with his claws. Surely, no one's going to be wandering around town at night to catch him. His luck can't be that bad, right?
Right?
Something startles him and he hits the ground, journal falling open beside him. It manages to procure a few interesting claw marks as he scrambles to close it, which might alert anyone's attentions to something being amiss, but Meowth isn't deterred. It's closed now. It cannot incriminate him- yeah, someone's been extra paranoid since he was informed the journals like to start dictating without your permission.
Journal put aside, he resumes picking the lock... Seriously, does an animal sanctuary really need a lock this hard to pick? It's like they don't want anyone to steal their Pokemon.]
[OOC: Available both in person and over the journal if you're wondering about the suspicious claw marks. Have at the currently not-talking Pokemon.]

Like a bunch of childish traps.
So uh... have a wet sponge on a rope "lick" you in the face. Or... at least startle Meowth because he's shorter than what Gold anticipated beforehand]
no subject
And now for some good old-fashioned cursing at his terrible luck and... the sponge, except instead of the shrieking rage all that comes out is...]
Meowth, meowth, meoww- [....What the?] Meowth?
[Cue Meowth clapping his paws over his mouth. Well. This isn't good.]

A loud yawn followed by Kansai Japanese]
Ahh, if it's another squirrel I'm going to stop patrolling this late!
no subject
like dub logiche does not. He does recognize the fact that he's about to get spotted and... Runs to hide behind something. It's not cowardice. It's strategy! ...There could be windows on this side of the building.]
no subject
Damn, it was a squirrel. Well, I'm beat. You wanna head back to the castle or crash here?
[Hey look, there's an Aipom on his head]
Yeah, it couldn't hurt to crash.
[And Gold pulls out the keys from his pocket. Which one, which one...]
no subject
Weeeell, it won't hurt to sneak in right behind him when he opens the door. Like a ninja. Under the cover of darkness. He take one trainer and his little Aipom too.]
no subject
Gah, dear Ho-Oh that's bright!
no subject
Well. There's Meowth, poised in an awkward sneaking stance, eyes adjusting to the sudden brightness, frozen like maybe if he doesn't move, no one will see him.
Trainers are totally like t-rexes.]
no subject
...Ataro?
[That Aipom is now staring at you Meowth.]
no subject
Bring it, pipsqueak. He's on a mission.]

no subject
[...well, at least it sounded suitably threatening. Now run along little twerp before you end up getting fury swiped in the face.]
no subject
You're still wild? Weird.

and his own Pokemon]
Hey, don't look at me like that!
no subject
[At least deadpan snark is the same in all languages even if you can't appreciate the nuance of the wordplay.
Well, he's done here. Excuse him while he shuffles on past. Maybe this twerp will just let him go about his business. And maybe Spoinks can fly.
no subject
no subject
Yeah. He's audacious. Gold has no Pikachu and thus Meowth fears NOTHING.]
no subject
Ataro, go get him!
[Scraaaaaatch attack!]
no subject
ABORT. ABORT. DODGE. EVASIVE MANEUVERS. SOMETHING.
Or... Meowth could just fall off the cage like an idiot. That's a good evasive maneuver. Except now he's irritated. Hello, claws. Lovely to see you in attack mode. NOW TASTE HIS KERATINOUS FURY, MONKEY BOY.]
no subject
Go ahead and knock him out, I don't have any Pokeballs.
no subject
...Oh right. Battle. Maybe he should cut his losses and make a break for it. Better than getting knocked out and caged like an animal. Yep. Definitely. No cowardice here. Just strategy.
And speaking of strategy... Meowth launches an attack- not at the Aipom, but at a wall of empty cages. Enjoy that, boys. He'll be escaping. LIKE THE BAT.]

what do]
