CXLVIII.
[somehow, this opens up on a conversation between Zelman and the white-haired, red-eyed kid with no name.]
Not at all?
Nuh-uh. You're not scary.
Oh? But I'm a monster, you said so yourself.
You're not scary!
What if I grind up your bones and drink all your blood.
[but it's said seriously. calmly, coldly, a little threatening. the child sounds unsure.]
Nuh-uh, you won't eat me.
Ha, that's what you think. I'll gobble you up for dinner if you keep being bad.
Nuh-uh, no you won't. You won't--!
[the kid shrieks and runs off in a sudden clatter of noise. furniture's shoved around, Zelman laughs, and the child lets out another loud shriek before he...
...starts giggling. flailing around. trying very hard to get Zelman to stop tickling him.]
I told you I'd get you.
[that kid puts up a valiant struggle, but just keeps laughing. Zelman eventually lets the kid go so that he can roll off and onto his little feet again, still in stitches.]
Chase me again, chase me again!
I'll get you again! Get over here--
No way!
[and they do it again. and again. they're making a right mess of the lobby, but hey.]
[ooc: oh god please feel free to run into them wrestling somewhere in the lobby. this may never happen again in anyone's lifetime. :|b over the journal is welcome too.]

[he chuckles a little while his kid makes himself comfortable next to Pharos.]
I meant mine; he doesn't have a name. I'm sure he'd be thrilled if you showed him something back, though.
[the kid clasps his hands together, tightly, like he's holding an invisible ball. he takes a deep breath before blowing air into the spot between his thumbs. when he quickly pulls his hands apart, a little dragon made of fire shoots up, spreads it's wings, and then disappears in a shower of quickly extinguished sparks.]
[the child looks very pleased. he likes that trick.]

[he frowns a little bit upon hearing that the kid doesn't have a name, but quickly turns to watch the white-haired boy, waiting in slightly eager silence to see what he'll do; his eyes light up a bit, very much like a child that has been introduced to something new and amazing when the the dragon flies up and then bursts.]
Very impressive! You are a very skilled child; I do not know any tricks like that at all. He might be on par with you, Zelman. [it's more a compliment to make the kid happy, but as far as he knows, it could very well be true, which is why he doesn't mind saying it. he'd only seen the man burn leaves before, after all.]

Butterflies.

Somehow, I do not believe I would be able to learn something like that... it is likely because you are his 'son' that you were able to. But it is still a very nice trick that he has taught you regardless.

[it'll be such a shame when he's gone. Zelman'll be down a key source of entertainment and prideful joy. ): he reaches up the pat the little guy on the head.]
It runs in our Blood. If he's a guest to it while he's here, he might as well learn a thing or two.

I thought it may have been something like that... not blood, necessarily, but I believe my guess was close enough.
My name is Pharos; it is very nice to meet you.

[Zelman was going to say something, but that warrants a silence. the kid looks honestly curious, since he doesn't have much else to gauge weird people against.]
1/2
Yes... something like that. But I suppose it would certainly be close enough, would it not?

You are right; I am a very scary monster.
