[ courtyard filter ]

[ in spite of paradisa returning to normal (or as normal as it was going to get), uru hadn't taken a chance leaving the castle perimeter since the vampires attacked. instead, she didn't want to scare anyone and stuck close to the castle, keeping busy there instead. she actually found herself more focused than when she was living in the city. kara's departure had been upsetting but reminded her how she wanted to learn to knit as well as the super heroine, and so she had been doing that outside in the courtyard. not that... she had gotten very far with what she had been trying to put together. she still had that horrifying excuse for a scarf she had tried to sew for damian last christmas.

she really needed to improve. :(

but she kept hearing something in the tree above her and put down all her things, glancing up at it. she didn't see anything in there. it sounded a lot like... after a minute, she had hopped up onto the lowest branch and began to pull herself up into the tree. ]

I've been getting used to the castle's kitchen again, so I think I can make proper meals on the stove there.

[ she starts walking but then pauses, looking back to see if he's following. ]

I learned a long time ago we also can't sit around and wait for things to come to us. [ that isn't how life works, anyway. ] So, we have to do things that would make us happy in the meantime.

[ she reaches up to pull her hair back into a ponytail while searching her skirt pocket for an elastic. she had been meaning to ask charlie for a hair cut but the longer her hair got, the more she grew quite fond of it. ]

And it feels good to accomplish something like that.

BUT it does make him snort and grab her hands to remove them from his face with a genuine grin.]
