The name Paradisa is Greek in origin. It means garden or orchard. It’s fitting, ending up here. Oh, and Katherine, if this is your elaborate way of influencing my mind, you’re going to be sorely disappointed. Elena and I may not be together but I will never love you again. You will never understand mine or anybody’s idea of paradise. You only serve yourself and if Damon didn’t entomb you I will find you and do it myself.

He said he doesn't like marriage because... you can't sign up to spend an eternity with someone without knowing what "eternity" is actually like. And if you did, you wouldn't sign up at all. Then he told me to shut up because I don't understand anything about eternity, even though my husband spent two thousand years guarding me while I was mostly dead. I'm pretty sure that means he's immortal. Or something really close to it.
