[ Alright, well, so far? This place isn't too shabby. A few friends from home, a few people who know him from his previous two-year stay, and a few mysteries to investigate so he has something to do with his free time...not bad. Not bad at all. The lack of having his nuts clawed at by Erebus helps, too.

For the first week, Minato has been indulging the simpler pleasures of life; fresh food, sleeping in, and spending a day doing nothing but playing videogames and listening to music. Good times all around!

But of course, one can't just laze around forever- social needs are just that. So today, he's on a lobby couch, feet propped up on an ottoman, PSP in his lap. Faint sounds of some sort of hacky-slashy game with all the people from that one popular series filter through his headphones, but it's mostly his voice, dictating into the journal. ]

For all the people who've been here awhile...I was wondering. How do you fill your days? I don't mind having all this time off, but...it's like summer vacation.

[ In that eventually, like Junpei, there's just nothing left to do and you can't wait for school to be back in. He buttons through a menu, pausing before the next fight against Swordguy McLeatherbelts. ]

Must be more to do. Especially with the mystery of the castle.

It's dangerous. Like, really dangerous. Most people try to shoot for the adjustment before they go hosting expeditions to try and find things out there. There's the problem of packing enough supplies, getting people who have the skills to defend themselves if you run into any of the scarier groups out there ... a million reasons. Seriously.

Just give it some time, okay? Now that it's warm again, I'm sure there will be people heading out soon to see what else is around. You can volunteer to help out and use this chance to get acclimated in the meantime.

That should be a lot easier. There's an indoor pool, a library, a gym -- there's the four seasons room, where it's summer on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I think it's snowing in there if you go in sometimes, but I never kept track of what days. And then there's all the shops in town. A lot of people get jobs -- I work at the Lux.

Maybe we should do something, then- take advantage.

It's a piano bar and restaurant. I wait tables mostly. The food's pretty good, but the clam chowder gets old pretty fast. [ because it's the soup of the day ... every day ... ]

But if you want to hang out, I think I could free up some schedule room. [ there's a teasing edge to her tone because she actually has plenty of free time. ] Anything in particular you had in mind?

All right. It takes about ten minutes to get down to the city, so wear comfortable shoes. [ With that, she'll shut her journal and grab her purse, tugging on some tennis shoes and heading down for the lobby. It takes just a few minutes, considering she's only on the fourth floor, and she waits by him by the main doors like he asked. ]

No response, but he'll be down by the doors, in a less than fantastic outfit in comparison. Hands in pockets, headphones on! Ready for the party...

[ Being called ~more interesting~ gets an o-oh face of being caught off guard but it fades quickly enough into a smile and she heads out the doors with a nod. ] Yep! Come on, we should go down while it's still light so that the hike back to the castle is easier in the dark. Have you been down to the city yet?

[ And it's true, too! Better tell him who you're dating quick, or he'll start hitting on her for reals. Minato nods back and falls into step beside her, headphones lightly bobbing against his chest. ]

Haven't had the chance. There's a lot of castle to see.

[ LOOK, Claire has never had to preface things with "I HAVE A BOYFRIEND" before. There was bound to be a learning curve of awkward. ]

Ah, yeah, I know what you mean. It's pretty cool. I mean, the place is huge. [ She tucks her hands into her jacket pockets as they head outside down towards the city. ] It's just kind of a walk. Some of the residents actually moved down there.

Shopping's pretty universally similar. Or ... inter-universally even, I guess, all things considered. [ Oh look they've reached town. ] It can be kind of a pain to walk everywhere sometimes, but I guess it would probably be better if you like wished up a bike at the castle or something. I haven't tried that one yet, though. Anyway, they just really don't have taxis or subways or anything like that, so...
