In case anyone hasn't heard by now, Akihiko...

[pausing for a moment.]

He died trying to save the people that were kidnapped, and stop Isis from doing any more damage than had already been done.

He'll be back in two weeks. I promise.

Don't. Just don't. The last time someone promised me something, he went off and got himself killed. I don't want to hear it. [ A pause. Hnnn life is so hard and she's trying really hard to pretend that she doesn't sound as upset and teary as she is, but it's impossible to sound like you're not crying when you are. ]

Tim, I'm sorry. I know you guys are -- [ close seems like a cheap word. With as much as Akihiko talked about Tim, that was the kind of friendship that people just didn't try to put to words. ] If it weren't for me, he'd still be here. I should be the one spending two weeks in limbo.

[A beat]

You're wrong.

I'm not saying he should be there. None of the people who died should, but I can't imagine he'd ever want someone else to suffer through it instead. He's... we had some idea of what we were going to be facing, and if he didn't really want to save all of you, then he wouldn't have put his life in danger.

And you don't know for sure what would have happened. For all we know, things could have ended much worse for all of us had Isis' plans gone the way she wanted them to.

You don't understand. I know that you know about me -- about what I can do. The only reason she even took those hostages is because she tried it on me and it didn't work. I should be dead, not him. Not Sam. Not anybody.

It doesn't change the fact that he still wouldn't have wanted that to happen to you.

Yeah, and I never wanted this to happen to him, either. It's not fair.

But I don't think Akihiko would want you to think about it this way. He told me more than once that he tried to look forward and keep going no matter what happened in his life.

I don't know how to do that. I don't know how he does that. He's always this ... master of coping, like it's easy or something, but I don't have it in me to be that way. How am I supposed to look forward when forward means dealing with not having the people I care about around?

[ There's a pause, filled by the sound of sniffling. ]

I'm gonna go up to his room. Somebody has to take care of Koromaru.

I don't think it is easy for him, it's not easy for anyone.

His dog... I didn't even-- ... Yeah, someone should be looking after him.

I'll keep him in my room. Penny will be happy to have him around -- I think she likes him. [ It feels surreal to seriously be talking about her and Aki's dogs when he's dead. It feels surreal that Aki is dead in the first place. ]

... When the castle brings people back, what happens? I mean, should we ... move him somewhere? [ Hello, fresh wave of tears. She pauses to choke them back and sniffle some more. ] There has to be some kind of protocol to this.

[pause, he doesn't want to say this but...]

When things like this happen to people here, they literally disappear for awhile. I don't know where they go, but right now moving him isn't something we have to think about.

... But, he's coming back, right? I thought when people disappeared ... [ She doesn't want to think about that. Akihiko's not allowed to go home. :( ]

He'll be back in about two weeks, yeah.

Will he just ... show up in the ballroom? I want to be there when he comes back.

I don't think it's always in the same spot they died, so I don't know if that's possible.
