Oh no...

No, no, no!

[There's a very loud whirring sound that sounds a bit... muffled somehow. Possibly many whirring sounds. It's safe to assume that whatever they are, they are not a good sign.]

Please turn off, please! Uhhh...

[Frantic clicks and snaps and maybe a little pounding of a fist against something large and metal can be heard, but the whirring continues with a few added wet slosh sounds until finally, every sound comes to a halt.]

Bloody machines. Maybe you really are evil.

[Did you plan to do laundry tonight? That's going to be a problem. Merlin has claimed all three washing machines and effectively overloaded them. Soap bubbles have seeped out, flooding the entirety of the laundry room, and has seeped out into the hallway a bit.

You know you want to point and laugh.]

[He goes quiet at that, though of course his gaze never actually leaves Merlin. It's a moment before he speaks up again.]

...you are quite the unusual boy; I cannot recall ever seeing a human like you... even if you do appear to be slightly more than that.

[He looks down at the mess of bubbles.]

Oh, there are quite a vast number of things that I could be called, and almost all of them would be entirely accurate.

But Pharos is by far my favorite out of all those titles.

[Chuckles. It probably comes out sounding a bit eerie, but then again, it usually does.]

I do not believe it would be a terrible idea to do so; while I am certain the ghosts would not mind cleaning it up if you asked, I doubt anyone actually cleans up messes like these under normal circumstances, so they very well might appreciate not needing to.

Exactly. Ghosts or not, they're servants just as I am. They've got enough things to do around here that I don't want to bother them with my own messes.

[He doesn't mean anything by it, really. All his laughs come out sounding like that.]

You are a servant? ...it seems quite nice of you to be willing to lighten the burden on the ghosts here at the expense of yourself... [And this kind of behavior is not something he is at all used to so you're kind of getting stared at more, Merlin.]

It's only fair, right? Besides. It should take too long, I don't think. I might've made it worse once or twice but I think I've got a handle on it this time.

[Watching Merlin for a moment longer, as if expecting him to turn into some kind of particularly unpleasant entity. But the moment passes and he glances down at his own hands, and then to Merlin once more.]

I would not at all be opposed to helping you, but I am rather poor at actually using my hands; if I attempted to do so, I would likely only create more work for you to do.
