⚔ Second strike

[After spending some time reading through the strange journal that the castle provided for him, Thassarian gets...restless. He doesn't mind waiting, as long as he's waiting for something. This sitting about just won't do. He checks his armour and straps on his swords. After a moment's hesitation, he takes the journal with him, heads into the lobby, and strides out of the castle doors with a look of resolute purpose.

Even though he really has little idea where he is going.]

[That...name. It rings a bell. An alarm bell. He's come across it in the journals. But Thassarian has had long practice hiding what he felt. And being dead--it was handy for some things.

Like your heart not beating too fast. Like not missing a breath.

He keeps his smile set on his face and bows deeper.]

[ even without a reaction to tip her off she's well-aware what revealing her name generally brings. It's very rare that she meets anyone who doesn't know it...even if he seems not to. whatever the case is Riful doesn't really mind, an amused sort of sound leaving her lips ]

[He straightens up. Somehow she doesn't look the way he imagined her. That's a fault of his, he knows--he's too quick to assume someone is harmless because they're small and sweet-seeming.]

He slowly shakes his head. His hand grasps the hilt of a sword.]

I have read about you.

I won't allow you to harm anyone.

[Heh. He shows an edge of grin. Something in him has been spoiling for a fight.]

[In a moment both swords are in his hands, gleaming blue, runes along the blades almost singing out with power, with bloodlust. He points one in her direction but says nothing.]

[ a soft giggle escapes her lips--right before she's gone from sight, and standing behind him as if she hadn't moved at all ]

You're a little slow.

[He whirls around in a two-handed strike, putting all of his strength behind the swing.]

[ and she dodges again sdjkfs pushing herself backward and out of his range with a thoughtful sound ]

[He hisses between his teeth. The runes on his sword glow sickly green for a moment, an a coil of poison light arcs in her direction.]

[ and that one hits--so her expression because one of surprise as she feels its effects...however short-lived it is as she allows her body to cleanse it naturally ]

[He watches her shrug off the unholy blast as if it were a light swat. He knows that he can't win this--not alone. But he wouldn't be himself if he didn't try. Again, he raises his swords for a strike.]

Hmm... [ a lock of that seemingly-harmless hair of hers will suddenly harden and shoot out to parry that blow. And when it connects it hard--almost like striking saronite ]

I thought you might be stronger since your blades look alike, but perhaps I was mistaken...

[The recoil of the blow shudders through his blades and his eyes go wide.]

Hnh. Sorry to disappoint you.

[ the tendril remains poised in the air like a projectile ready to fire as she lets her hands fall to her sides, a smile on her face ]

It's fine. So long as you do your very best I'll forgive you.

[The ground beneath them boils with corruption and he throws himself into an all-out attack.]

[ ahhh, that's more like it♥ She wanted to see his most earnest efforts--she doesn't move despite the uncomfortable stings she feels as it eats away at her, instead allowing herself to recover from the wounds easily.

And when he gets too close? more tendrils shoot up out of the ground of all places, made of hair sunk into the ground behind her where she stood. They shoot up and out like a barricade....but fan out and curl toward him once they arc to all come crashing down on him in an attempt for force him to the ground with their massive pressure ]
