16. dreams
[It was said that evil never slept and good was ever-vigilant, but really there were quite a few agents on both sides of the fence that wouldn't refuse a well-earned nap. Aziraphale was certainly one of them, and when he retired to that evening it was to a particularly pleasant dream.
It was a Tuesday, which was the first point in its favour. Aziraphale had always liked Tuesdays, he thought of them as the quiet and unassuming day that never garishly drew attention to itself like Friday or Saturday, wasn't too businesslike such as Sunday (which was business day for angels) or Monday. Nor was it Wednesday which always seemed a little smug in its position as the center of the week, and the less said about Thursday the better.
The second rather pleasant discovery was that the year was 1997, which was remembered fondly as the year Wildlife on One, with David Attenborough first began showing on the television.
The final, and certainly deciding factor in how good this dream was, was undoubtably that on this particular Tuesday afternoon in 1997, Aziraphale had made his best cup of tea of all his life. He had never been able to quite replicate the lovely blend of tea and milk, although he had spent years trying.
Sinking into an armchair by a blazing fireplace, like any self-respecting Englishman, he sipped said cup of tea and turned on the television to the dulcet tones of Sir Attenborough.]
Ah. Perfect.
[Perfect, except for the serpent who'd just wandered in like he owned the place. Crowley sauntered over to the chair that was 'his' by default and miracled up a bottle of wine]
What're we watching?
[ooc: Open. This is for Crowley and Aziraphale, please feel free to tag both as they're together. Stops spamming now]
