I'm pretty sure I've ate, slept, and abused the never-ending stream of hot water in this place.

How about I meet you for Pie and coffee when you get off shift. [she's assuming that she's working, because - really - Jilly is like Jo in that sense of working until someone tells her that she's been there too long]

Anyone who was worried, I'm okay.

Anyone who doesn't know why other people were worried? [an amused tone] Don't worry about it now, 'cause I'm fine. [a pause] I am vetoing any camping trips in the near future, though.

I've been trying to answer questions about what happened, 'least when people ask 'em. For the most part though, I'm on the side voting that this wasn't the castle. If there are sides.

So, if anyone else wants to ask me anything about that whole week I was gone - I'm an open book.

When are you gonna be free for ... [thinks about it] ten minutes? I went by the room this morning and you must've been wandering. You do realize that if you get lost, I'm gonna have to come find you.

Yes. Ruby. [looks at her with a what the fuck expression] And she's all right. [he gets back to icing her wrist]

Now are you going to keep your wrist elevated at all times? Or am I going to have to send a note out to Sam to make sure you do? [because you know he will]

[glares] Yes, I will - but, Chase, Ruby ... she's not someone I think you should be buddying around with.

One - she's a demon and two - she's the demon that is responsible for Lucifer walking topside back where I'm from.

So, you girls aren't friends and I'm somehow supposed to choose? [yes, he's decided to completely ignore the part about ruby being a demon]

Fine. Be friends with her. [dismissively, and really it's probably good that he doesn't immediately go Demon Oh No! But... this Demon, this specific Demon - Jo knows is trouble]

I just don't want her anywhere near my room or my stuff. If my salt lines get disturbed? I will move all your shit up to the top floor of a tower. I will force the castle to move you.

[he's really just more focused on elevating the pain from her injured wrist at this point and this whole girl fight drama business is really not interesting to him but chase is going to nod and agree because you don't mess with girls and their little bitchy fights with each other. you just don't]

All right. But really, it was just one breakfast. I doubt she'll be making any visits up here. [and a beat] But I'll keep that in mind. No going near your stuff. [he gives her a smile]

Now please take care of yourself. No moving your wrist about. No testing to see if it feels better. It's not going to feel better until at least a few more days. You can try to circulate your wrist later. In about five days, maybe. But I want you to come see me before that. We'll work on it together.

[huntersdaughter]

[when she's better? She will kick your ass if you become 'better' friends with THAT Demon]

[you call this a shitty bedside manner? obviously jo hasn't been to too many hospitals before or she's just been getting really lucky. chase decides to ignore the comment]

Now I mean it. I'll send a note to Sam if you start slacking. I'll be keeping my eye on you.

[eh... she could just be venting]

Good. [and with that he finishes icing her hand and starts wrapping it up again with the bandage]

Get some rest, Jo. Why don't you take a quick nap in your room? I'll wake you up in a couple of hours.

[huntersdaughter]

[glances to the clock...]

I'll just stay here tonight. Sam went out, he was ticked off at something going on in the journal. I couldn't find it, so I'm just guessing it was filtered.

[exhales] Thanks, Chase. I'll rest in a bit, I'm just gonna... [half-laugh] sit here, I guess.

All right. [he takes a pillow and puts one behind her back and another on her lap to help elevate her wrist]

Well, I'm going to cook dinner then. What do you feel like eating? [knows very well he can just order something up but much prefers cooking his own meals whenever he can]

[huntersdaughter]

[shrugs]

I was out with Jilly before I came here. We had pie, so I'm not really hungry.

[head tilt of curiosity] What are you good at cooking?

Macaroni and cheese, hot dogs, fish fingers? [chase grins] Anything, actually. [he had to fend for himself as a kid so he'd pretty much learned it all] I could probably quit my job and turn into the next Naked Chef. [okay, that was probably taking it a bit too far but he's a decent cook. let's leave it at that]

We'll have a late supper then. I just had a bowl of ice cream anyways.

[huntersdaughter]

[smirks] Alright, well - keep your clothes on. [the reference to the TV show host -- over her head]

I'll eat whatever you cook. I'm not exactly a picky eater.

[she ate eight-legged sheep while she was lost in the Dead Zone]

Did you cook for Cameron? [digs into his life a bit]

[at the mention of cameron, chase stands up and starts to clear the medical stuff he'd brought out] 

Sometimes. When we happened to not have a case to work on. [a pause] On Tuesdays. [he clears his throat]

I'm going to pack a set of these bandages for you so you can change them every other day or so. Sam would be able to help you with this? If not, I'll be around.

[huntersdaughter]

[nods]

Sam should be able to help, but I am capable of going to the clinic if you'd prefer I do that. [she doesn't want him to get all mad at her again]

[exhales] Alright, fine. I'll page Dr. Chase via the journal.

[he packs a little medi-kit for her complete with a set of easy to read/understand/follow instructions]

[there's some soft laughter]

Hey! I thought you were supposed to cook, stop fussing around with this stuff.

I thought someone wasn't hungry yet. [chase stuffs the last of the bandages in the little bag and puts it on the coffee table] There. Make sure you take it with you tomorrow.

[he puts away the rest of the stuff and heads over to the kitchen]

Is pasta and salad okay?

I'm not hungry, but you're fussing over this. I was hoping to distract you.
