[tossing his guitar on the bed, Lindsey grins as he finally got a song to sing figured out and a slot with Lorne at Caritas. He stops and grabs his journal to plan on letting a few people know]

I'm performing tonight at Caritas around sevenish. I know it's last minute, but I'd really love it if you'd show up.

If anyone's interested, I'm going to be playing at Caritas tonight 'round seven. Anyone who wants to come down is welcome. I'll even buy a round. I'm sure someone will have an open journal if ya can't make it. Hope to see you there.

[he leaves to shower, then heads back to the club. When he gets up around seven, he just has one song to sing...]

[and sure enough, she'll be there, sitting at a table near the stage with attention full on him. She'd known he could sing, just from the little bit he'd done at the beach and the garden... but it was a whole different experience, seeing him on stage.]

[she'd run up to him immediately after, but she doesn't want to interrupt his conversation with Lorne, so she'll drink her Coke waiting for him to be free so she can really talk with him]

[he had been watching her since she walked in, making sure she knew that the song was for her. After his quick business talk with Lorne, he made his way through the crowd to her]

Well, Lorne also thought so. You're looking at his new entertainment on Tuesday night and the weekends.

[bouncing to her feet, she throws her arms around him, laughing] That's wonderful!

[it's an instinctive gesture, an embrace out of celebration, and she's already pulling away almost as fast as she stepped in]

[oh, he can't have that and his left hand slips behind her to keep her close.]

Well, figured if I need to take a girl out to dinner now and then, I'm gonna need a job to afford it.

[she blinks as his arm goes around her, a sudden flush in her face. This was public and open and Lorne was right over there and...real. She's still not really processing that this is all real.

She's a little tense... and it takes a mental effort to relax a little, settling a bit more comfortably in the circle of his arm with a bit of a bemused laugh] No aspirations to open up a law firm?

[he can't read people so he won't know if she's tense so she needs to tell him to slow down if she wants him to know]

Been there, done that and basically told that no one in the castle would really want one anyway.

[if she actually wanted him to slow down... or if she knew what she wanted in the first place... she might. But even if she's not comfortable, she wants to be. So, for now, she'll pretend she is.]

[besides, beneath the tension, there's awe at he fact that he's there.]

It'd be difficult to really hold anyone to any one kind of law, here. But music...

I forgot how much I missed it. It's like a little rush. Get all nervous, and then once you start, it's like you wonder why you were worried in the first place.

I've always found it amazing to see people actually perform.

Galleries can be like that, a bit, but people really think much about what the artist actually looks like and there's not exactly a spotlight on you. You can duck out if it's not going well. [though that never really worked as well as one might hope]

[taking her seat again, hands automatically wrapping around her coke]

You'd be surprised. [a grin] I've had my fair share of bad shows.

Oh really? [grins] Any spectacular escapes? Like climbing out the bathroom window?

No bathroom windows, but I knocked down an entire pyramid of balanced pop cans trying to avoid a particularly ruthless professor at a school show.

It was supposed to be a statement on consumerism, I think. It caused quite a mess.

So it went from recycling to the city dump? That it?

That and the lecture of a lifetime for disrespecting other people's art. It was more of a smashing disaster than success.

At least his art got a lot of attention that night.

So you going to do another show around here?

I'm not sure. I haven't really had much of a chance to build up enough pieces for a show.

I was hoping to do something with other artists here. I think there's more than a few around. But it's been hard to really find others and a space for a showing.

[a quick grin] Though I might have come up with an idea for where to hold the class.

...I'm pretty sure no one is using the church for anything, anymore.

Could be a great place. Most churches have rec rooms for those kinds of activities. You just won't be able to have any little demon kids.

I wonder if it actually counts as hallowed ground when it's not being used for anything...

[she happens to like a number of the demons here... and she's not sure how many of them would be affected]

It does. To build a church on it, it would have to be made so. Only an act of pure desecration would turn the ground sour. And that ain't something I wish to see again anytime soon, darlin'.
