♫ 14 - that is what I listen to...

[tossing his guitar on the bed, Lindsey grins as he finally got a song to sing figured out and a slot with Lorne at Caritas. He stops and grabs his journal to plan on letting a few people know]

I'm performing tonight at Caritas around sevenish. I know it's last minute, but I'd really love it if you'd show up.

[and for everyone else...]

If anyone's interested, I'm going to be playing at Caritas tonight 'round seven. Anyone who wants to come down is welcome. I'll even buy a round. I'm sure someone will have an open journal if ya can't make it. Hope to see you there.

[he leaves to shower, then heads back to the club. When he gets up around seven, he just has one song to sing...]

...I'm pretty sure no one is using the church for anything, anymore.

[nods, and has no idea who Larfleeze is]

Could be a great place. Most churches have rec rooms for those kinds of activities. You just won't be able to have any little demon kids.

Oh...[brow furrowing. She hadn't thought of that]

I wonder if it actually counts as hallowed ground when it's not being used for anything...

[she happens to like a number of the demons here... and she's not sure how many of them would be affected]

It does. To build a church on it, it would have to be made so. Only an act of pure desecration would turn the ground sour. And that ain't something I wish to see again anytime soon, darlin'.

No... if it becomes an issue, I think I'll just find another spot.

...funny. I know you hear about that... sacred ground and all. But it's just a building. It's not like sacred ground makes the people inside act any more holy.

Actually, it's not the building that makes it sacred either. The land is blessed before the building even goes up. Graveyards have the same blessing, as do some other places. In fact, some jails even have sacred ground because the religions at the town deemed that it was needed to keep the devil away from the souls inside.

[a smile] Well, I'll try to keep from holding my art class in any of the local prisons, then.

[a beat]...do we actually even have one of those?

I think in the basement. Wherever they stashed the Joker.

[ok, need a change of topic]

So... Lorne said I'm supposed to treat you to at least one dance tonight...

[probably for the best]

[a grin.] Lorne has good ideas.

You know how?

[shrugs, playful smiling]

I can fake it pretty well, and can at least not step on your feet.

That's plenty good enough. [releasing her coke, she'll take his hand, slipping off her chair again]

[yeah, there's something to be said about Lindsey when he's with a woman he cares about. He's more likely to do things that he normally wouldn't do, if it means that it makes her happy. Like dancing. So she has no problem dragging him onto the floor]

[Jilly is passionate about the things she loves. Art, reading... and music. It's one of the few times when she can be completely happy and not even the tiniest bit self-conscious about being in someone's arms.

Light on her feet, she doesn't exactly drag him out, but her enthusiasm would be hard to refuse even if he was reluctant.]

[he's keeping the evil hand off her, so only one arm is holding her waist, trying to imitate her movements. He felt a bit awkward, but seeing her smile and how much she was enjoying it took away any inclination to stop.]

[seeing him hesitate, she'll give him a reassuring smile] Not so tense. There's no wrong moves here... just... feel the beat. [she knew he could. There's no way he couldn't if he let himself relax. He was too much of a musician.]

[she'll reach out to hold that rogue hand of his, though. Really, whatever issues it had, she wasn't too worried about it as long her hand was in his... and him worrying about it would only make him more tense.]

[there was nothing formal about the dance. No professional moves. Just enjoying the music and the company and being happy enough to move with it all]

[his fingers wrapped around hers, that fear eased away and he just let himself get lost in the music and her smile]

I like the way you move... [playful smirk]

[a laugh, thought that brought a bit of pink to her cheeks] Maybe it's my partner.

Nah, it's all you, darlin' [he grinned and spun her a bit.]

[easily moving with the spin, she'll end back in the circle of his arms, laughing] I think you might have lied about the pretending bit.

[smiles just a bit] Ok, I had to learn to do some formal dances for social events, and I can do a bit of line dancing. But not just going to a club type dancing. [his arms keeps her nice and close]

[she's not complaining] I'd think it'd be easier. There's no steps to remember.

Having a count in your head and steps to start a dance basics with make it easier to know how to dance it so you can then make it more individual to your personality.

[ah yes... Mr. Planning... have a fond smile at that] Granted.

[slipping her arms around his waist as the music changes, the next song slowing just enough that its easy to stay close]

[he pulls her in a bit closer, his left hand playing with the ends of her hair unconsciously]

Though I'm a big fan of slow dances. It's just swaying.
