01 - Prelude to Domination

[FOOMPH!]

[Success!  With a flash of pale blue light, and the sound of a vacuum cleaner sucking up a section of carpet, a man explodes into the lobby.  He barely manages to land on his feet, stumbling forward a few steps before straightening up and looking around him.  His head is entirely bald, polished to a fine shine, while his face is obscured by engineer's goggles and a goatee.
His lab coat is definitely made of latex, and reflects the chandelier's light as he strolls about the lobby and thinks out loud, in a deep, theatrical voice.]

Excellent!  I've traveled to- ...well, I have traveled!  Just as I set out to do.
Now to figure out where.

[Lucian was just happening to wander into the lobby when he suddenly stops to see the sight before him. He can't help but stare for a few moments, reaching up and rubbing the back of his head.]

Do I want to know what just happened?

[He stares again, then sighs, folding his arms.]

Hate to tell you, but you won't be going back anywhere. You're in a place called Paradisa now. If you were teleporting on purpose, this obviously wasn't your set destination because this world takes us from our own at complete random.

Yes. It's an alternate world that, like I said, takes us from our own. [he raises a hand to gesture around the castle]

This castle is sentient. Cair Paradisa. It's the reason we're all here, as insane as it sounds. It kidnaps us, time stops at our homes, and when we leave we have no memories of this place.

[He may not be the friendliest looking guy, but he's not a at least liar. Though with his face it'd be hard to tell. He folds his arms again.]

At least a couple hundred. Fourteen floors and seven towers, each one able to house twenty people each. Most of the floors are full, but not all. Needless to say, yes, there are a good number of people trapped here.

Depends on the individual, and what the castle feels like doing that day. Kitchen's always stocked so food isn't a problem, ghosts act as servants so most don't even have to do anything. The castle will also give residents whatever they want, if it's within reason. It's entertainment that we're usually lacking, and what people complain about the most.

So some get by, others don't and tend to complain. I'm sure sick of the place after being here for over a year.
