[It was a disorganized room, filled with books and equipment, but there was a sense of warmth and homeyness to it. Flay's workshop, the place that Vayne had spent most his time during school, the place where Vayne had made all his friends. This scene was no different from his daily life, yet these were the times he had felt best. Sulpher curled up on a chair, Pamela floating upstairs with the books, Roxis fussing over something, Jess about to throw a bunch of things into the culdron. These were the moments that Vayne treasured, even the accidents.]

I wonder what everyone is doing today Flay's been quiet, I'm a little worried.

[Sulpher pops his head up to look over.]

Vayne, this isn't home.

Eh?

Don't get swept up in dreams.

Dreams...?

[There is a small explosion in one of the shops in town, luckily it isn't much more than smoke and noise, and the building and shop itself is still okay. There is a lot of black smoke billowing out of open windows and the door though, and it makes for quite the spectacle. The journal as well decided to carry over the noise, and some of the smoke that had hit it, to anyone who might have been browsing.

In front of the store a young man stands leaning over coughing deeply. There's a cat near by looking a bit uncomfortable himself as well.]

I'm... I'm getting tired of this.

I... I did it? Um... miss...? The girl who was taping up doors. I'm not sure if anything has changed with your experiment but... I think I was successful with that item. It took all night but.... I don't have copies but I can start on them now. I think I have enough materials to make about five.

Um... Anna? Could I ask for your help?

There there, everything will be fine, don't worry. Just as you wanted, I'll make everything okay.

Isn't this a unique place? I never would have thought there could be limitations. There shouldn't be, none outside of his own convictions, and that is very concerning.

I might as well say hello, he would want me to be polite, especially considering the choice in this situation was a bit of a strange one. But what else could be done?

(OOC: Due to the emotional stress of the current mass murder, Vayne wanted to retreat from it all. Usually Vayne's powers just fix it, but since that can't happen the personification of them decided to make it better in a different way, which was to switch out for the time being. Anyone is welcome to notice that this isn't properly Vayne.)

The castle has the ability to grant wishes... but doesn't grant all wishes. Wishes need to be defined to be granted.... I wonder what the limit of the wishes granted are. If someone else could grant wishes? Would that conflict with the castle?

Ah, no, I'm not worrying about that. Don't worry Sulpher, I don't think that should be an issue.

I've finally set up my shop. After talking to people more informed than I, I decided to put it in town. So, I guess what I'm saying is, I'm open for business officially.

I know I should sound more confidant Sulpher....

I'm willing to try my hand at anything requested, and will be keeping up a supply of health potions and common items in the store for sale. If you want to drop by, just look for the sign that reads "Vayne's Atelier" I couldn't really think of a good name....


Also, a little while ago I found this powder in that room with the random stuff. I did a few experiments with it and it seems to be a really good ingredient! I made some samples of grilled eal and some pastries if anyone wants any.

Um... I was wondering, would anyone mind if I set up a workshop inside the castle? Or, is that something more for town...? I wonder if this is really okay, I've never tried to do something like this before....

Since... since I've found myself here, I want to be of use to everyone. I... I want to find a place amongst all of you. I'm still a student and... there seems to be a few complications but, um.... If there are no other alchemists I would gladly do what I can for everyone. I did well in most my classes so, I think I could....

Sulpher, this is embarrassing.... I know, I know....

Um... so.... That's all I really have to say.


Oh! And Allen? I worked on making another accessory, this time I double checked it and tried out the item, it seems to be working properly. I'm not sure if it will solve your problem, but it should at least increase resistance.

[In a random hallway somewhere in the castle there is a small explosion, smoke is billowing out of a room and into the hallways, and luckily for all this has been captured over the journals.]

That... that shouldn't have done that. I was sure I measured all the parts right and.... Sulpher are you okay?

[After a bit of coughing, and retreating to the hall with the journal in his hands Vayne continues.]

Um... Mister Allen, I think- [A bit more coughing.] I think I have something that might work but... I'm not sure. It didn't exactly come out as intended.... It's fortunate that ingredients and materials are easy to get here.

(OOC: As per Vayne's loss, all things have a 50% chance of failure, sadly Allen's commission got a score of 4 out of 10 and has failed. It will cause some massive fire damage when used uncontrollably until it burns itself out, which is completely up to Allen on how that goes.)

About the Archive

"Paradisa Lost" is the archive of what the journals contained between December 1st, 2006 and January 10th, 2012. On that final day, Paradisa issued new journals, so that the residents could fill them up again. While there are still residents around who have old journals, we have chosen to preserve the old journals here for muns' reference and history.

"Lost" in the title refers to both the old journals that the residents once kept, and also to our move to Dreamwidth from the original Livejournal community, where Paradisa started. It is a fresh start for muns, as well as for the characters.
