The days of Hallow's End soon come to a close back in my homeworld, and the spirit of the Headless Horseman can rest once more.

Paradisa also seems to have quite interesting holidays. I have heard of 'Halloween' several times, and it seems quite similar to Hallow's End. But it does not seem universal.

What is your world's most popular holiday?

[Still collecting, this one. Noz will be around - sometimes in several places at once - if anyone wants to run in to a shirtless elf.]

Life and time are intertwined. What has been given life will age over time.
History is made by the living, and it starts at the creation of a species.

My homeworld, Azeroth, is rich in diverse species, all with their own past and their own future.

The Titans are the creators of our world, and they gave us dragons the duty of watching over it.

In Azeroth, we first had the ancient species of night and moon 1 the children of the jungle 2 and the gentle beasts of the plains 3.

Then those who were once metal and cog 4 and those carved from stone 5 fell to the curse of the flesh and became their own people.

The worshipers of the Titans 6 gave birth to the youngest race 7.

...and from another world, we came to meet the ones born of strength and tainted with demon blood 8, and those bound by the love of the light 9.

Even death itself created its own species 10, and over the millennia, corruption, magic and history created branches that would end up as a new kind of people.

Life is quite diverse. So is history.

Tell me yours.

[Today, there is another dragon rather than the normally red one resting at Alexstrasza's tree. He is calmly looking up at the branches, the greenery around his massive form dusted with desert sand and glittering gold dust.

Hearing of his sister's disappearance from the strange world, the Aspect of Time came to pay his respects to what she had created. As he had not heard from Malygos in a long time, the Timeless One feared that he might be the only one left. He, just like them, had a duty back home - and if his internal clocks ticked right, it was close to a change of fates back in Azeroth.

Time never truly stopped. It created branches of reality.

Nozdormu had devoted his life to stopping such mistakes. The timeline always had to remain true.

Now he could not, and his sister could no longer lend an ear to his thoughts.]

[Written in Common, which I guess is somewhat similar to English;]

Language is an interesting concept. There are new words appearing and old ones forgotten, and ancient ones that disappear completely. Scattered like this, one might not be able to understand what used to be a friend. A mighty display of power, I might add.

Curious, indeed. I suppose all that can be done is to wait and show some patience. If it persists... well, you have an unique opportunity to learn a language not native to your own world.

[Unusually chatty for Noz, but he's very amused by this and finds it really interesting.]

Mind your time, people of Paradisa. This might feel like an eternity.

[The message is then rewritten in several different Azerothian languages, and only his gutterspeak is sub-par due to being very 'new'.]

[...and then he adds sound for the last language. Because really, nerglish doesn't translate well on paper.]

[Good afternoon, Paradisa. There is a giant ghost dragon outside your castle.

...it's actually Nozdormu, but that's beside the point. The time dragon is out of phase, sand covering the ground around him and rushing through the air like in an angry desert. He is looking at the castle itself, massive horn-covered head turned upwards with his gem-stone eyes unblinking and his whole body still, as if he was a statue or a mere imprint in time itself.

Having spent weeks of studying the place, it was becoming more and more interesting to a collector like the great Aspect. He had been tediously writing up every piece of stone in his mental notebook, yet it still seemed impossible to categorize.

The castle, the place itself was a riddle... and enigma he couldn't solve.

Spreading his transparent wings, the bronze dragon roars out his frustration to the world.]

This place becomes stranger by the day; by the second. But it is fascinating, yes indeed. Each soul seems displaced in time, even if only a moment from another. Such possibilities it could create... and such dangers.

It is very different from Azeroth.

[Your time-dragon is mildly amused and distressed at the same time about all the damn time weaves he sees. =|

If you're somewhere in the castle, you might run in to a half-naked elf wearing a skirt, curiously studying the surroundings. In fact, he might be in several places at once...]

[Good morning, Paradisa! Now that you're all back from your sea adventures, a new giant addition to your wondrous land has arrived.

In the sky above the castle, a cloud of glittering sand announces the great dragon's arrival, his body strangely translucent as he soars high above. Beating those mighty wings, the trailing flow of sand collects around the dragon and helps him take a solid shape - bronze and gold mixed with sandy tan and quite contrasting crystal claws. He hovers for a moment, as if thoughtful...

...and then it is like someone pressed a rewind button, his actions going backwards until he disappears once again.

A heartbeat later, and the leviathan reappears, this time keeping his see-though form and taking another path around Cair Paradisa. The sand still remains around his form like millions of tiny fireflies, and his large wings stretch out widely to catch an upwind and remain aloft. Snorting, the dragon tilts his head slightly...

...and then rewinds again, each movement going backwards until he's gone once more.

The third time he reappears, the Timeless One beats his wings twice and then soars towards a nearby cliff, landing with a rumbling sound. Nozdormu is huge - slightly bigger than his blue brother - and as the sand helps him to become tangible again, he turns his gemstone eyes towards the sky.

Unlike some of his siblings, the Lord of the Centuries' entrance is quiet - but right on time. Come bother him?]

About the Archive

"Paradisa Lost" is the archive of what the journals contained between December 1st, 2006 and January 10th, 2012. On that final day, Paradisa issued new journals, so that the residents could fill them up again. While there are still residents around who have old journals, we have chosen to preserve the old journals here for muns' reference and history.

"Lost" in the title refers to both the old journals that the residents once kept, and also to our move to Dreamwidth from the original Livejournal community, where Paradisa started. It is a fresh start for muns, as well as for the characters.
