[There's a yawn, the sound of a hand hitting the journal almost methodically. Then, a sleepy voice:]

Hm? That's strange. My alarm hasn't rung yet. [A pause. Another yawn.] Maybe I'm just growing accustomed to having proper amounts of sleep again. [After all, she hasn't been sleeping very well ever since her father...no, it was too early in the morning to dwell on that.] Now, just to turn off th-- [She breaks off with a startled gurgle of surprise. This isn't a clock!] A – A book?

[The bed creaks a bit as the weight upon it is adjusted; Mitsuru's sitting up now.] This isn't my room! I haven't slept in a proper bed since -- [Another unfinished sentence and a sigh ... as strange as the interior decorating in her dorm room was, at least it was, well, her room.]

... Where am I?

This is not what I expected when we were finally able to open the door and leave the dorm. What could have possibly done--

[There’s a pause like she’s coming to terms with this new place. She was in some kind of bedroom, and she's looking around in confusion. Next time she talked, she’s straightforward and to the point now, the sound of her heels hitting the ground faint in the background.]

This book I found with my name in it. It seems to be some form of communication?

[A pause as she flips through the notebook.]

Can anyone hear me on this? If so, does anyone know of Port Island? Someone here must have heard of it. Also, any more information about this place would be greatly appreciated.

[A short pause and the sound of her walking has stopped as a door opens and she examines the outside.]

This door has my name on it as well.

[She starts walking again.]

...Another shadow? No, that's impossible.

About the Archive

"Paradisa Lost" is the archive of what the journals contained between December 1st, 2006 and January 10th, 2012. On that final day, Paradisa issued new journals, so that the residents could fill them up again. While there are still residents around who have old journals, we have chosen to preserve the old journals here for muns' reference and history.

"Lost" in the title refers to both the old journals that the residents once kept, and also to our move to Dreamwidth from the original Livejournal community, where Paradisa started. It is a fresh start for muns, as well as for the characters.
