Hello, Residents of Cair Paradisa!

I hafta say, I never get bored lookin' through these pages! I mean, wow, on one page there's someone warning people about this dangerous fella, and on another, someone's complainin' about candy! Actually there's a lot of pages about Valentine's Day, even though it's already in the past! Haha, you guys are far too funny! Though, seriously, I do hope whoever is responsible for this Cain fellow manages to catch him before he decides to attempt a killing spree. That'd be a shame. I wonder what you guys would do with him if that should ever happen, if it hasn't happened already.

On a rather lighter note, I'd really like ta get to know people! Everyone here seems unique, and it makes me wonder what kinda lives you guys had to leave behind. It seems most of you are well acquainted with each other, and it makes me feel sorta left out.

Here's a fact about me: I used ta be a trapeze artist in the circus. Now that I don't have work, I gotta say, I really miss it. Entertaining people is fun.

[He pauses, and if you listen closely, you'll hear skin slapping against something continuously. What is that sound, you ask? Is he doing what you think he's doing? No, you pervert. He's juggling fruit in the kitchen. Feel free to have your character call him out on how unsanitary that is.]

What about you? I bet you have some interestin' secrets, but you can keep those.

[Recorded; he speaks with a Brooklyn accent (ignore the inconsistency in his pronunciation! It happens in canon)] I've never seen technology like this before! If we woulda' had these things back in school, maybe I would've finished. Well, no, that's a lie, I think talkin' to a book would be just as boring as writin' in one. I'd much rather talk to a person face-to-face. [There's a pause, and he suddenly takes on a slightly more serious tone, but it's still lighthearted.]

An hour or so ago, I was standin' on top of the Flying Pussyfoot, but now I'm in a room, in a hotel. At least I think it's a hotel. Though I don't remember purchasin' a room. I don't even think this is where I was supposed ta be, 'cause this certainly ain't Manhattan, for I remember the place to be a lot less greener. Which is too bad, because someone is waitin' for me, there. Unless they've somehow found themselves in the same predicament as me, by coincidence.

[His voice grows a bit softer.] Chane, you wouldn't happen ta be listenin' to this, would ya? [A bit humorously:] Was it you who kidnapped me? You really shouldn't leave your hostage untied, with free reign of such a fancy suite. -- Ahh, of course it wasn't you. Well, whoever it was, I should thank ya for the nice shower. Very fancy. It's nice ta be clean again.

I've read some of the pages in this book, and to be perfectly frank, I'm a little confused. If someone could explain the situation to me, that'd be great. Preferably, in person.

Well, I might as well get the introductions outta the way. I usually go by the name Claire Stanfield, but seeing as how Claire Stanfield's supposed ta be dead where I'm from, I'm not so sure anymore. I guess, for now, I'll still answer to the name.

About the Archive

"Paradisa Lost" is the archive of what the journals contained between December 1st, 2006 and January 10th, 2012. On that final day, Paradisa issued new journals, so that the residents could fill them up again. While there are still residents around who have old journals, we have chosen to preserve the old journals here for muns' reference and history.

"Lost" in the title refers to both the old journals that the residents once kept, and also to our move to Dreamwidth from the original Livejournal community, where Paradisa started. It is a fresh start for muns, as well as for the characters.
