Yep. Where I come from, some people are born with an X-gene, a genetic mutation that gives them special abilities which manifest at puberty. I got telepathy, and the...uh shrinking thing.

Yeeeah, learning you can walk through walls or read people's minds while your body is doing the usual tricks at the same time isn't exactly super-fun. There's a special school for mutants, though, so they aren't so isolated.
