[Hello, Paradisa, have the sound of one very bored Doctor doing a bit of maintenance on his self's TARDIS >>] Oi, you're in terrible condition. String Bean's got no excuse for this sort of mess, look at state of these wires! [soothingly] No worries, old girl, I'll have you sorted out in no time. Maybe I'll even convince him to take us both out for a bit. Explore the planet. Sounds like fun, yeah? [yes, he is talking to his ship. and stroking her, too, but you lot can't see that :|]

Okay, I admit they were a good stress-reliever.

...Yeah, you were kinda startled when I mentioned his name over the journal the other day, but I...wasn't really feeling very talkative right then. He's my AI.

Right, I remember! [the mun forgot, fff] I'd like to meet him, yeah.

All right. I'll be right over.

[And soon afterward, have someone in what is very obviously space armor knocking at the TARDIS door. Not that he doesn't have a key, but it's polite.]

[Nine answers the door a bit later, greeting him with an amused smile] Met another bloke wearing one of those, only it was a different colour.

Oh yeah? Blue or black? [Okay, so there's technically a purple, too, but South is definitely female.]

I'm York. [He holds out a gloved hand as a little eight-inch green hologram of a similar suit of armor appears at his shoulder.] And this is D.

Blue, actually. What are the colours for?

Nice to meet you, York! [shakes his hand, before staring at Delta like THAT IS THE CUTEST THING EVER I WANT ONE] You too, Delta!

Red and blue are for the simulation soldiers - anything else is a Freelancer, and we're ranked a lot higher than them. And blue would have been Caboose. [York snorts.] Good kid, but kind of an idiot.

[Delta nods and speaks with an echoing voice.] It is my pleasure. Are you having difficulty with the TARDIS's repairs?

[actually it was this dude (http://www.livejournal.com/allpics.bml?user=recoveryone) but now I can't tell from his userpics whether he's blue or black :|b] Right. [smiles at Delta, and shakes his head] Nah, my self's just been messing about with the wires. I'll have it sorted eventually.

[That's Wash, but York can lol at the mistake later.]

You know, if you need spare parts, you should be able to just ask the castle for them? Some things it won't give for whatever reason, but most things it will. I haven't been able to keep my armor in this good of shape since I started going into real battles.

[blinks] Hadn't thought of that, thanks! Did manage to get my sonic screwdriver from the castle, and my psychic paper.

[He nods, having seen the sonic screwdriver in action.]

Okay, but what's psychic paper?

[beams, taking it out of his pocket] The paper's slightly psychic. Shows you whatever I want you to see. [he hands it the paper to York, and it identifies Nine as "John Smith"] It's handy when I've got to sneak into events, or disguise myself. [which is most of the time :|]

Oh, cool. Must make it easier. Me, I always just had to avoid getting caught.

[chuckles] Not getting caught takes a bit of practice. 900 years, and I still haven't got it down completely. Even with the psychic paper.

That's when you have to get creative.

Besides, it helps when you got someone watching your back all the time. [He nods at Delta.]

It does, yeah. [frowns] I've had a companion watching mine, but I can't remember her.

[His head lowers a little like he's wincing.]

That's...okay, that's not a great loss, but at least you know what it is?

[wry smile] Suppose so, yeah. Same loss I had last time, too.

Mine--or rather, ours, me and Delta have the same--it's a guy from our world who keeps showing up. It sucks! I know he's supposed to be important, because they don't take things that aren't important, but the one friend of mine who does know what he's supposed to mean to us won't tell us.

Have you tried asking him? Not the bloke who won't tell you, but the one you can't remember.

[York looks down, speaking in a low voice.]

He just left.

[have a concerned look] I'm sorry. Suppose asking if you're alright is a bit of a stupid question.

[He shrugs.]

He'll be back. I gotta believe that.
