[after the failed mission that resulted in a near complete freezing and asphyxiation, Noel's now awake in the clinic. She's still bedridden as her legs have yet to recover completely. She's quite depressed by the result, but do come and cheer her up]

I--I would gladly die if it meant protecting others! I... I know that's selfish, but that's how I feel.

[Ky pauses then, closing his eyes. He still regrets that he was unable to protect her from Jin, and he wants to say that he should have been the one protecting her, but he knew in the back of his head that she may only blame herself more. Still, he thinks about what she says then. It's so contradictory. She calls herself selfish, when she stated she'd flat-out die for others?]

... That isn't at all selfish, lieutenant. Far from it. Sacrificing yourself for the sake of others is selfless, and is truly admirable.

Still. I would like to help however I can so you will never have a call to make that sacrifice and still protect others.

Death has a lot of meanings to it. How many people would be sad if one died? To just leave them like that without considering how they'd feel. That's why it's selfish.
