♥ two

[An angel in a pink dress can be seen crouching here and there in Paradisa's lush gardens, a watering can in her hand and a few tiny flower pots beside. She hums to herself as she works, something reminiscent of an old lullaby for calm and safety.]

[ooc: Open post ~]

[Arwen is also out among the flowers, but she is whispering to them and caressing them to make them grow better. She stops for a moment when she hears the song from the other side of a row of plants, and after a moment begins to hum along.]

[Arwen walks around the corner and into view]
It is a lovely song.

Plants always enjoy song...
[as she caresses a leaf with the delicate touch of a lover]

Oh, I walk among them every few days. And I do not believe jealousy is known to plants. Only joy, and foreboding.

Perhaps. But when my people sing to them, and they return our songs, they sing only those two.

[she smiles] I am elf-kind.

Ah, then they are perhaps not so different from my own people. We are the Firstborn, the caretakers of Middle-Earth.

[Olimar is out exploring the forest-like thickets of flowers, when he suddenly stops to listen. A rather pleasant humming voice? How compelling! He shall seek out the source of this sound! You may notice a little red light on an antenna approching through the plants, Aerith.]

[He startles.] Ah! Good day. [Stares up at her, curiously headtilting.] You were the one humming just now, were you not?

Please, think nothing of it!

Allow me to introduce myself, miss. My name is Captain Olimar.

A pleasure to meet you, as well, Aerith!

Yes, I was taking the opportunity to study these native plants further. Between Paradisa's prolific flora and your humming voice, I was suddenly reminded of a planet I visit occasionally ...

[Beams.] This space suit has protected me from many strange and incredible climes.

The planet I was thinking of is not my home at all, although it is home to my friends, the Pikmin. They are mysterious plant-like creatures with adorable singing voices. It is hard not to recall them, surrounded as I am by flowers and leaves!

[identity profile] whistleandwork.livejournal.com 2009-05-31 05:01 pm (UTC)(link)
[Now he's fascinated.] They do? How intriguing! I had not thought that plant life had the auditory nervous system to truly appreciate sound with. Although the Pikmin did appear eager to learn any melodies I happened to be humming ...

Is that what brings you into the gardens today, Aerith?
