))) second engagement
[she doesn't wander far from her room. the book is always open. words and voices and things she might not understand but still likes to listen to are a constant hum of noise. no one is told to be quiet. no one is told that it's not as relaxing. her room is quiet except for the book. still she ventures out, looking at a world she's never seen before and learning what she can. she's found the music room today. down the hall from her room. the sounds were soothing, and she wanted to see how it worked]
It's very pretty.
[she hasn't heard it play but the keys are clean and the finish is a high gloss across the top. she sits on the piano bench with the book open beside her. constant companion. a finger presses to the ivory key plinking a sound out. it's soft since she barely pressed it, but she presses it again harder to get a more resonating tone from it and she's pleased by it]
[music room - open post - sorry she's more of the observe and learn sort at the moment]

Yeah, I guess. In an almost overly organized, perfectionist sort of way.
no subject
Is it? [she glances to the piano again trying to see how it could be too organized then back to the person that had shown up and smiles brightly]

The piano, the room is nice as well. The piano, it's shiny.
no subject
Yeah, it's great.

I'm Echo. [she stands up and extends her hand, it's a very stiff gesture but she's seen it done many times and she knows it's the appropriate response here]
no subject
Nice to meet you, Echo. [shaking her hand, though still giving her a bemused look] So, do you play?
no subject
Do you know how to play?
no subject
I don't think I do. I haven't tried.
no subject
It takes some practice, but would you like to try?
no subject
Do you play?
no subject
I'll play a little bit and then show you, okay?
no subject
Okay. [she smiles at him and then goes to watch what he does]
no subject
Would you like to try now, or listen and see it again? [It's not the correct way of teaching, but it gets pretty sounds out fastest Maybe if she likes it, he can try and teach her it correctly, and to read music.]
