003//Samus Aran

[There's a woman in a Power Suit sitting outside in the rain. Occasionally she'll remove her helmet to feel the rain on her face, even as it intensifies the longer she sits outside, but if she thinks she hears someone coming, she'll put it on very quickly. If you're quick enough, quiet enough, or just use the sound of the rain to your advantage, you can probably catch a glimpse of her without her helmet.

She has her journal lying near her, open, sheltered by a makeshift canopy of whatever she could find.]

So what do people do around this place? I don't necessarily mean to entertainment, just...in general. Is there some sort of mission? Are there people intending to accomplish something?

((OOC: Open to whoever's wandering by outside, or you can just respond to the voice entry.))

It certainly makes for severe inconveniences sometimes. [a pause as he reconsiders her tone] It is also possible for a permanent loss to change.

[raises an eyebrow! he's onto your game, samus] Well, assuming you do discover what it is, I suppose you can take relief in the fact that it may not be truly permanent.

Dying is not the only option. Others have changed losses simply by being knocked unconscious or experiencing a temporary loss prior.

The random bouts of insanity I was referring to are more along the lines of field trips to dinosaur parks, invasions of zombies, or enchanted greenery hanging everywhere in the castle; but I suppose those, too, can be taxing.

You are pardoned, however most find that that is in fact the only explanation applicable to most events that take place.

Dinosaurs are prehistoric creatures that were the dominant vertebrate animals of Earth hundreds of millions of years ago. Many of them are more than 50 feet in length and will not hesitate to eat humans presented the chance, as we found out not too long ago when we encountered them here. A zombie is a reanimated corpse brought back to life without speech or free will.

That is fortunate for you, then, you likely know how to handle such an invasion precisely. Zombies do not exist in every world - the same could be said for many of the creatures present here, actually.

Other events include temporarily altering a resident's mental state to make them do something they would not do normally. Residents have turned into their own former self as a child. So on and so forth. [He taps the journal in his hands.] The journal contains quite a bit of valuable information on past events, should you find the time to peruse it further back.

[Well, he's over his word quote as a silent stoic type for the day, so he'll leave her be, unless she has any other questions. He nods and turns to leave!]
