You do not need to pace, York. Worrying before you have confirmed the information with a reliable source will only exacerbate the problem.
Yeah, yeah, I know. So what happens if I die here and you get purged, and I wake up in two weeks all by myself? You know I don't want that, D.
Nor would I wish to leave you alone. While I cannot calculate the probability of such an event occuring here, as I do not have sufficient information, perhaps it would ease your mind if you built an external device to host me should the need arise. Agent Washington should be able to look after me in that case; the chance of him implanting a second AI after his experience with Epsilon is extremely low.
Good point. And there's no reason you couldn't use my radio equipment to tell him what to do. Unless he got taken down, too. Guess we should find someone to act as backup, right?
An excellent observation, York. I will suggest such an alternate once a trustworthy person presents themselves.
[long sigh from York]
It'd really help if I had someone to vouch for my sanity that wasn't either insane or inside my own head, you know.
Of course. You are only human, after all.
Thanks, D. Like I'd forget.

Okay, you got me. I'm convinced of the pixie dust and bullshit. Mind confirming how much of the information I got yesterday is...whatever passes for real in this place?

Let's start with mechanics. When people die here, they magically come back in two weeks. Truth or bullshit?
York
Wash
Second question. People can come here from the past or the future, or are they just from alternate timelines? Someone was saying their friend was here from a different timeline and it made sense to D.
York/Delta
[Fffff] Both, actually. The former is the most common, but it seems there have been some rare instances where people have been from different versions of a central timeline.
Wash; sorry for slow T_T
[Let him chew on that for a bit.] ...I'll get back to you on that when it makes sense.
Last question, Teacher. How the fuck am I supposed to tell when this place is in my head massing shit up? You'll understand if I'm less than peachy with people taking away my memories or making me act differently.
York/Delta
Don't bother, it won't.
You'll know. Either you'll know right away, or you'll know after it happens. This place isn't real subtle with it's handiwork. The only thing you might have trouble with is what was originally taken from you. Sometimes it's a tangible item, sometimes a skill, sometimes a memory.
Wash
Huh. Guess I'll have to start testing out my skills, then. Don't think anyone besides D here knows me well enough to tell if I'm acting strange.
York/Delta
If you're both here together, than you probably both loss something. Chances are, though I can't be sure, it'll be a mutual loss of some sort. That probably means a memory. But again, I know this castle about as well as I know the future. Anything could happen.
Wash
[York is still thinking.] Memory. And they'd have to take it from both of us to make that work. Fuck that. I like my head the way it is.
York/Delta
Of course you do. Go through your basic drills then. If anything skill or ability based is missing, that ought to point it out.
Wash
[sigh] Yeah. Better safe than sorry.
Hey, thanks for helping a guy out. It's comforting to have a familiar voice around. Really.
York/Delta
You're willing to help me out back home, figure the least I can do is make sure you're on your feet here.

You know, what with my luck being the way it's been, I'm really not going to be surprised if Texas shows up at some point.
