He'll tell you eventually. Just, y'know, relax a bit. Don't get all worked up. It's no fault of yours; nothing you did wrong. It's him with the problem. Maybe the loss prevents him from doing something or... maybe it did something to him and changed him in a way he hates.

It might have changed him into someone or something that would change your opinion of him, you know?
