Well then, now that settling in is no longer an overbearing priority, I feel as though it is only proper to formally introduce myself. After all, if I am to become a functioning part of this unique and wondrous community, I should not hide in my room and behind the pages of these books.

My name is Lezard Valeth. I am a scholar and mage from the thriving world of Midgard. I have studied in many different fields, primarily those associated with black magics and history.

While I am aware of the nature of this castle, how it plucks us from whatever point in time it so chooses and takes from us precious pieces, I find that it is a most fascinating place. Thriving with so much unexplored phenomena and reeking of mystery, I am simply taken by the sheer scope of what lays before me. This Cair Paradisa is a truly remarkable place.

Therefore, I would like to ask if those that have been here longest and those that have died while residing here would speak with me.

And above all else, it is a pleasure to be a part of this, even if the pleasure may only be mine. A place like this may not be the most welcoming of abodes, but I do so wish to try and make the very best of it.

Black magics?

Yes. I suppose I may need to clarify as to what I mean. Black magics in my world are the offensive breeds of magic, and the manipulation of elements. Simple lightning spells, for instance, fall under the confines of black magic. Essentially, it is the properties of magic that are used to attack and destroy.

Hmm, your whole world is called Midgard? I don't suppose it's connected to an Asgard and a Niflheim?

As a matter of fact, it is deeply connected to both. Asgard stands atop the highest root of the World Tree Yggdrasil and is home to the Æsir and Vanir, whilst Niflheim exists upon the very lowest root.

I thought that might be the case. My world is set up in a similar fashion, except that the only name to have withstood the test of time is Niflheim. I suppose that's to be expected; it has been ten thousand years of our time since Ratatosk planted our first World Tree.

The more I learn, the more I'm convinced that all the worlds were connected once.

It is entirely possible that this multitude of worlds were all once bound to a single plain of existence. A single World Tree that may have once bound the entire multi-verse on its billion roots. Or something similar to that. Although such is theory that is nearly baseless at present.

However, one thing I find interesting is your use of the name Ratatosk. In my own, Ratatosk is messenger of sorts for the world tree. Most commonly associated with mythical beings at the very top and bottom of Yggdrasil.

[ooc: Now the mun plays a difficult fanon card, wherein all further VP lore that is not already canon is going to be heavily based/resemblant to standard Norse lore. Pray for me.]
