That's what the police usually does! They investigate the conditions surrounding the victim's death, and then Mr. Mouri comes in and solves the case!

Hard to tell, since the body was burned. Rigor mortis sets in differently depending on the temperature of the body.

A woman in her mid-twenties. It looks like she died from a blow to the back of the head, and the body was lit on fire some time after that. It's hard to tell how long she's been dead since heat can affect the onset of rigor mortis, but I'd give it at least ninety minutes since the body's cool to the touch.

No identification on her, no lab for drug tests, and the burns would cover up any of the signs of more struggle, so there's not much else to go by until somebody heads to town and finds out who she is.
