Entry 17~ Wandering

[ Ianto is feeling vaguely angsty and mostly bored. So he's decided to venture down to the kitchens. Even though he can't actually make coffee the smell coming from the machines soothes his soul. He'll be lounging around down there, feel free to help the guy out and make him a cup of coffee or engage him in conversation.]

[ hey Ianto have a Jack sorta doing his self appointed rounds of the castle... he feels he needs the exercise honestly - so he kinda notices you as he passes by, stop raises an eyebrow before walking in ]

[looks up at him and smiles slightly then goes back to being sort of sulky] Yes, I'm aware.

[ d'aww that sulky-ness is adorable ] Neither does sulking.

[sits leaning forward, hands clasped between his knees, then stares up at Jack trying to put feelings into words] I haven't had anything better to do lately. Everyone seems to be disappearing into their own little cave. ["everyone" clearly means Jack]

Ouch. [ wanders into the room a little more ] Been too much of a hermit lately, sorry.

It's alright. [leans back in the chair and sighs, staring into space] I've just missed having you around that's all.

[ going to distract himself with making two coffees now ] I know, though you can always come visit the door is usually open.

Right. I'd still like to see more of the TARDIS. So far I haven't gone farther than your room.

Good [happy Ianto is happy] So, do you think Tosh is back to normal yet?

I hope so [ and have two made, somewhat well, coffees -- he passes one to Ianto before leaning against the bench with his own ] Bit strange having Tosh flirting with me.

[takes it and nods while taking the first sip] Bit strange to have Tosh flirting in general, with any of us. She's usually more subtle, well, except for when Owen "died".

[ he stares at the floor for a minute before chuckling ] It's funny what people will say when they think someone close to them is about to die.

Speaking of, Owen's actually alive, right? This time around, I mean.

Good. [smiles] That makes things a little simpler. Especially if Tosh decides to make a move again.

[chuckles] Not after the week she's had.

[ takes a sip, glancing over at him ] And how was your week?

[shrugs] The same as most weeks. It's interesting how from week to week everyone here seems to be either bored out of their minds, or scared for their lives.

[Guess who needs his coffee, Mr. Jones. ;D Owen's headed down that way, so he slants him a nod on the way to the coffee machine] Working that coffee magic for the general public now, Ianto?

[looks up and rolls his eyes] You want to know what my loss in this place is? I can't make coffee---of all the things for the bloody castle to take away from me.

[he crosses his arms, raising an eyebrow] Are you serious?

[shifts his weight for a moment before turning to the coffee machine, giving it a few experimental pokes and getting down... two mugs. 'cos he can be accomodating occasionally.]

[is surprised by the gesture but covers it up well] Thanks Owen. [then back to his normal self] Try not to screw it up too badly.

Yep. [and a slight eyeroll] Best you're gonna get with your skills gone, isn't it, Teaboy? [annd about to pour]

[sighs] I guess so. [holds out his hand for the mug] Cheers.

[gives it to him, and 'clink!' survey says... not half bad] Hm. I may not be King Ianto, but it looks like I can handle my way around coffee.

[he leans against the counter, looking across the kitchen for a moment]

[chuckles] I'm impressed.

[leans back into the silence for a moment then says] How are you liking the place so far, Owen?

[curt smile, and with some amount of flippancy] Couldn't be happier. Free booze, easy women, you lot about, I've got it made. [sips his coffee]

[eyebrow lift] Easy women? Have you been getting around?

[sips coffee] I never kiss and tell.

Of course, because you're so secretive. [takes a sip] Can't we just leave that to Jack?

[hm] Definitely his forté. I take it he's been even more dodgy than usual 'round here these days?

Not in general, no. The last few weeks have been an exception.
