Act L; something to meditate on
[dictated as always]
Farewell? a long farewell to all my greatness!
This is the state of man: to-day he puts forth
The tender leaves of hopes, to-morrow blossoms,
And bears his blushing honors thick upon him;
The third day comes a frost, a killing frost,
And when he thinks, good easy man, full surely
His greatness is a-ripening, nips his root,
And then he falls as I do.
Hm. [The soft scrape of nails across a wooden desk, as if idly picking at something there.]
There is special providence in
the fall of a sparrow. If it be now, 'tis not to come; if it be not to
come, it will be now; if it be not now, yet it will comeāthe
readiness is all. Since no man, of aught he leaves, knows what is't
to leave betimes, let be.
[A different sound, now, tiny pieces of blown glass rubbing against each other over and over in the palm of Romeo's hand.]
How now, my lord, why do you keep alone,
Of sorriest fancies your companions making,
Using those thoughts which should indeed have died
With them they think on? Things without all remedy
Should be without regard: what's done, is done.
[ooc: Have some cryptic depressing Shakespeare for Romeo's 50th post! I'll tag in the morning though, I'm exhausted.]

Take my hand, if we be friends...

If we shadows have offended, think but this and all is mended: That you have just slumbered here, as these visions did appear...

And this weak and idle theme, no more yielding but a dream... Gentles, do not reprehend: if you pardon, we will mend...

And as I am a most honest Puck, if we have unearned luck...

Mmm... who cares about the next part...

Now to 'scape the serpent's tongue, we will make amends ere long; else the Puck a liar call; so, good night unto you all.
[When she finished she just continues to snuggle him from behind, her fingers stroking through his hair]

Castle did the same thing to you, didn't it?

[a pause]
I hate waking up alone.

I guess we're both feeling a little 'blue' now, huh?

I suppose we are.
Maybe we should race again.
