[written in neat unhurried cursive]

I've been here for a fortnight now and have spent most of my time in the library, it distracts from the thought of how they are dealing at home, without me. There are more books in this building than in any monastery back in England I think. It is wonderful to be able to sit and read and learn more about the world.

Though, I have to say there are many things that confuse me. I know that there are people from different universes here, and perhaps the books are from there as well.

Even so, would someone mind explaining this thing called electricity, which powers the castle I believe, to me? And flying machines called, "airplanes"?

Its interesting, that we're living in a castle fit for any king, but with so many inventions that even kings do not have the privilege of using.

Electricity is lots of fun! Ask the castle for a TASER!

It's like portable electricty. Lots and lots of fun. Get one and use it on someone you like!

It's like a really small handheld box. And you flick a switch whilst next to someone.

I know I'm going to ask for one. [scribbled smiley face] :)

[silently stalking this thread now, you liar]

Likewise, my Lady. [glad sarcasm doesn't carry in writing]

I suggest you stay away from the one offering the taser. He would only seek to harm you.

I mean he takes pleasure in tricking and deluding people. He's already tricked an acquaintance of mine into believing that "tea bats" exist, thus causing a panic.

Mm. Apparently he tricked Lord Weinberg into thinking that tea bats were a dangerous species of bat, that they inhabited this world, and that they would attack people. Lord Weinberg, being rather... chivalrous was concerned for the people.

A taser is a hand held weapon that is used to stun or knock out an opponent. By pressing a button on it, while holding it near a person, the taser would send dangerous amounts of electricity through the person. It's a modern weapon often used as an alternate to something more deadly, like a gun.

Electricity? Would you like me to be vague or would you rather have the long-winded version of things?

Airplanes are a bit easier to explain. They're ideal for travel when it comes to extreme distance, or needing the cross the ocean. Think of them, if you will, as giant metallic birds that carry several people, depending on the size of the plane, inside of them. Typically, it ranges anywhere from 25 to 250 people.

I imagine, if you were able to reach out of one of their windows, you could almost touch the clouds.
