So... I've been meaning to ask you...

I encountered a person named Mithos over the journals the other day. I saw that he mentioned your name and that you were speaking with him, so I was curious. He is obviously from your world.

From what I have observed, it seems that he is a boy who loves his sister very much... and I could not help but be reminded of that story you told me. The one of the boy who was twisted by his sister's death and who created the Age of Lifeless Beings.

Naturally, I'm concerned about whether the boy in the story and Mithos are one and the same. As well as how something like that might affect you...

It's troubling to see how this place seems to bring enemies together sooner or later. If that is what my future holds, I have my plans in place. Depending on which one it is...

It will be destructive, even so.

For now, it is important that I stay here. Suzaku needs me. Especially now with two of his closest friends being taken from this place. I won't let him feel as if I'll vanish again. And besides, Euphie is here as well. How could I choose to leave knowing that I will not ever see her again? No matter how it eats at me to be away from Nunnally for such a long time, I must remember that she is safer in our world. I'll rescue her as soon as I return.

Yes. Say that the hypothetical happiness guarantee may be applied to on person alone. Include yourself in consideration, if you wish.

Though he appears to be from that time before his sister's death, Mithos has... deceived people before, and I advise serious caution while speaking to him in the future. His power is immense, and his tendency to manipulate greater still, and I- [a pause] I would not like your safety here to be jeopardized because of our friendship. While I could be mistaken, in cases like this, it is better to err on the side of caution. I don't plan on halting our lessons, but I will be careful to filter more from now on.

As for me, I will deal with the consequences of my actions. Should he take any action against those I protect, I will not hesitate to show my true colors. It is because I failed to act before that much of this happened... and to take advantage of second chances, yet repeat mistakes, is truly foolish.

I have been cautious, considering what I suspected. I have not mentioned my friendship with you, nor do I plan to. A passing acquaintance is all that is all that I would mention if questioned. Just in case...

All of my friends and family. I can't choose between them.

Hypothetically speaking, say that there is no price. Just the decision of whose happiness to guarantee forever. Yours, someone else's who could not otherwise have such a happy future, or someone who is most important to you. It's only hypothetical...

Only one person. There's no need to apologize. I don't know that most people would want to make such a choice...

That would have to be my brother. It sounds so selfish that I can choose so easily, but that doesn't mean I can't try to bring happiness to my friends.

It isn't selfish to wish for someone else's happiness. Choosing to give one person happiness in no way precludes you from trying to make others happy through your own actions, as you say.

I'm afraid I can't pick one person. That is, even if I can, there are at least five others I have to worry about.

I do not know. One would have to have a good number of people cared about, but at least one who was thought to deserve happiness most, and this is a thing I do not know yet.
