This is so typical of him. I don't know why I expected--

Listen, I really want to talk to you. You can answer through here or I can come up to your room. Your choice. But we need to talk.

Besides, I want you to meet Chris and Fred. So please, just... answer me already.

[still seething] Well, I told him. I don't think he took the news very well.

Can I ask what happened?

Well... we haven't seen each other for months and we've both been through a lot since then. So we both pressed a few buttons with each other, and now he's avoiding me.

Oh.

Can I help?

Aside from helping me drag him out of his room to talk to me... I can't think of what you can do.

If this doesn't work, then... maybe I could try that.

I'm giving him a fair shot at willingly talking to me before I pop into his room.

[frustrated noise again] You'd think he'd WANT to talk.

Give him some time. He's probably still getting used to all of this.

I know. It's just hard, you know.

Yeah. But maybe before you drop in, let me try talking to him?

[While tone is everything Nathan is a planner, and figures writing might help him not get all upset or frustrated sounding. Writing means he can at least give off the impression of something other than utterly lost - which he would never admit to]

I know you do Pete, and I'm trying here but I'm not really sure what to say to you at the moment. This place isn't exactly as simple to handle as you like to make it seem you know.

Please don't use this place as an excuse to avoid talking to me... I haven't seen you in a long time, and... I have something really important to talk to you about.

[Oh he's pretty sure he knows what he's about to get told, about what's so important and what he wants to say is pretty cruel so it's a good thing he's writing still - it gives him more time to think and not lash out - oh but he can't even think of something to write so he's just gonna say it]

An excuse? I'm sorry Pete if you think the fact that I'm frustrated, angry and confused here is an excuse. Let me stop everything once more and deal with what you want to talk about.

[dude it is so lucky they aren't face to face now, seriously, though he's talking out loud now too]

You're frustrated and angry? How do you think I feel, being here for over a year and my own brother won't talk to me because he doesn't want to deal with it. I need you, Nathan, don't you get that? I need to talk to you and share everything that's been happening to me.

Or is what I want not important to you?

[seething anger is pretty much the point of no return and Peter is pushing him damn close]
