In light of a recent... discussion I happened to read, I came to wonder about something. I'm sure bigotry, prejudice and the like exist everywhere to some extent, but I'm a bit curious as to exactly what people from different worlds view as inferior or undeserving. Race, species, heritage, abilities, etc.

To put it simply, what's discriminated against in your world and why?

I . . . like to believe that that bigotry is at an end now that my Uncle is dead and we have given them back their land. But I know there are still some Telmarines who believe them to be nothing but monsters.

If you're not talking about just humans, a lot of supernatural beings are labeled right off the bat as being evil and bad, because the majority harm humans. For example, I ran across a coven of vampires once that managed to live off of cow's blood to keep themselves from killing humans. Still, a hunter named Gordon tried to kill them off just because they were vampires, and in his mind that made them fundamentally evil. And generally... anyone with any real physic ability is viewed as a freak by anyone that has an inkling about the supernatural life that really exists out there.

However, humans use the power of half-monsters to keep themselves safe. But they discriminate all the same as if we were not half-human.

Some have improved, however. So I suppose that it is getting better.

The others are peaceful amongst themselves, though. So I guess the prejudice is singled out into one location.
