I'm nearly done with the rift monitor now - I'm in the testing stages. The only problem is that it's not picking up any energy, probably because whatever power is behind dragging us all here operates on a different sort of energy. Which means that I'll have to run tests to figure out what it is, then modify the monitor to detect that. I still wish I had all the resources of the Hub at my disposal.

And I still miss Owen.

Have any attempts to consciously harness the power of the castle been made? It seems as if it operates on some sort of psychic energy - obviously, there's the ghosts, but I don't think that asking them for food or other such small tasks draws upon the power of the castle; nor would it create enough energy for testing.

I apologise if I'm asking anything especially obvious; I'm just trying to get my monitors to work, and I need to find spikes of energy similar to the ones that are created when people are brought here in order to test them.

I wish I could give you answers, miss. I am still without a fully equipped laboratory and as such have been unable to test my hypotheses.

If they have, they weren't successful. Which, I think, is rather a good thing; if certain people were to harness that, well, we'd have a big, stinking problem.

Well, the problem is that this place doesn't use the same sot of energy as the Rift to bring people here - which makes sense, because the castle isn't on the Rift. But it means that I've got to figure out what sort of energy I need the monitors to detect.
