...what motivates you?

For me, it always was just to become the best at what I do. Become the greatest swordsman there ever was. The core of that has not changed, but the methods of getting there, the definition of the greatest, it's changed a lot lately. I suppose that's down a lot to Sasaki Kojiro. But there are others, who are good people, who have helped with that as well.

Otsu went home a long time back now. I hope she's okay...

Maybe. It's like...I'm travelling - or I've been travelling, at any rate - but...I don't know why. I don't really remember how it got started, just that it did.

An interesting question. Are you the kind who enjoys listening to the stories of strangers? It's an ambitious aim that you have. Many are reaching out for the same. But as a swordsman, I suppose you are aware of that. A warrior's life is never an easy one, and likely not a long one, whether you are a master swordsman, or a mere soldier.

So, what drives you to follow that difficult road?

I just like to know a little about others in this place, considering the kind of place it is.

I do know that, but my path? It is going to be a long one. I won't ever be defeated. I haven't been yet, and it will never happen. Only one is proving to be a challenge in pure swordsmanship, and we've drew several times. But soon, I will defeat him as well.

My drive? It's who I am. I am a man of the sword. There is nothing else I could be, man.
