Has anyone ever wished for an object you didn't know much about? Do you personally need to understand how something works for the castle to create it right?

Most people don't even bother to look beyond what they're already familiar with. It seemed like a good idea to check first.

I think you just have to know what it is, not how it works. I know I have one of those electric fans and I only have the vaguest understanding of it's mechanism.

Since most people wish for things they're already familiar with, I wasn't sure whether to think it relied on the person's memories, or it's own knowledge of the worlds it draws people from or something. I figured asking around would give me some idea.

I think it might just draw from the whole pool when coming up with that sort of thing. I think asking it for things beyond the kin of the town's inhabitants might be out.
