Soooo. In the - roughly - 72 hours since I suggested that Christmas party, I've come to nothing but the realisation that I'm rubbish at planning parties.

Yes, for shame, Doctor. Erm.

Is there anyone about more adept at this than I am? You're not going to catch me asking for help often, so here's your chance. Well, unless you've got no problem with a party consisting of two streamers, a balloon, a punch bowl of eggnog and Christmas All Over Again by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers playing on loop.

So, right, in hopes of avoiding that, I'd appreciate a hand.

What was all that about centipedes? I was a bit preoccupied.

Well, people could bring food. Variety, that way. Music as well. As for decorations...

Should there be a tree, do you think?

Well, Martha's going to bring something, I know that much. Rose as well. Might as well make it a pot luck of sorts, hey? Music shouldn't really be a problem, either.

A tree wouldn't be a bad idea. Or garland, um, lights? Um ... blimey, I have no idea.

I'm sure we can manage something appropriate - even something home made.

...Those are traditional, yes. Well, at one point, anyway. Ahhh...

Are we having the party in one of our rooms? I have an idea.

I was thinking that, yeah. Or the TARDIS. Why? What're you plotting, Rose Tyler?

[bit of an ergh] Do you really want Lucy in our ... the TARDIS?

I was thinking since um, there's a lot of space in my room [muttered "and your room has too much stuff around"] we could get the ghosts to move my dressers and wardrobe over to your room and then we can bring in stuff for the party. Like ... a tree, some tables and chairs. [shrug] At least we don't have to lift it all ourselves.

... Valid point.

Oh, brilliant. That's perfect!

What day did you want this party to be on? I might have the ghosts move things around the day before just so I don't have to rush getting decorations up.

Tree ... lights ... tables ... chairs ... food ... [hunting around for some non-journal paper to make a list. lawl, Ten you has party planner now XD]

Um. Week before Christmas, I'm thinking?

Oh, it'll probably pop some snow on us last minute. [headscratch]

Wouldn't you know, I think that was the first thing on my list.

As long as it's real snow and not some ... disintegrated thing I'll love it.

Oh? You thinking on snogging someone in particular under it?

Well, unless someone's planning on destroying something in the atmosphere ...

Hmmmm, I dunno. There's a particular blonde I've had my eye on.

Why can't we ever have any snow without the whole destruction thing?

Oh, she's the sort that's likely to make other sentient beings of the female persuasion green with envy.

[hee] So, right. Decorations other than mistletoe.

You did have the right sort of idea - a tree ... we can have a really pretty star on top of it. Some lights for around the room. I know we need some tablecloths for the tables I'll have the ghosts bring in.

I wonder if the castle can make a few little TARDIS and K-9 ornaments for the tree. [amused]

I still like the mistletoe decoration best.

Right, I ... should not be on decoration detail.

[hee] You would. We should put up a few.

[bit distractedly as she's writing a few notes about other possible ornaments for the tree] You should be on food detail - as long as you keep your fingers out of the food. Do you think we should have food for a meal or just snacks and desserts?
