[recorded]
... hmn.
Unusual.
[a 'clink' sound, that sounds again a few moments later]
So many strong fighters. I can barely keep from drawing my blade and hunting them down to slaughter them all.
... though I cannot -
I need to see if the monk is here. Perhaps he can explain... if not, then he can calm me down.
[recorded like above~]
Monk.
Are you here?
... hmn.

... Karel?

The first floor.
There's...a clinic, across from the kitchen.
Karel..
When did you-?
Did you just arrive?
no subject
[and as he goes~!]
Yeah, I did.
no subject
I see..
There are others from our home here, as well.
Not very many, but a few.
no subject
Where is here? By your wording it sounds like we're not in Elibe.
no subject
Yes.
Here is Paradisa.
It's not Elibe, but somewhere else entirely.

[a soft snort]
That name better be intended for irony.
no subject
It...
It's not a haven, if that's what you mean.

Karel..
Please be careful here.
The fighters here are not all like they were, back in our world.

[two clinks in a row, which would he him managing to resist going to attempt to slaughter]
That knowledge does nothing to stave the need. A sword knows nothing of rest until it's been broken.

... no surprise that you work in a clinic.
no subject
Well, there isn't much else to do here, even if I weren't a monk.
no subject
You sound like you've been here for a while. Explain it to me.
[footsteps as he just kind of looks around the clinic in half-interest]
no subject
Well.
Most things that people need are on this first floor, or in the city. In the city, everything is free.
We all have something taken from us, when we arrive, and sometimes people are put under additional temporary losses. As well, there's no way to get back home until we're sent.
I think that's...everything.

[a pause, before he draws his sword and promptly draws it across his palm unflinchingly. another pause, before he just kind of... smirks]
Hmn.
no subject
What..are you doing??
no subject
[and here he would be pressing his fingers against the gash for a few seconds, before withdrawing them and flexing his hand]
... ironic.
no subject
A test..for your loss?
[and Lucius gets up and a roll of bandages to wrap up Karel's hand]
What is it?
no subject
Sense of touch.
no subject
I see.
Well.
[insert cautious bandaging here]
I'm sorry to hear that.
no subject
... you're still odd. Why apologize?
no subject
No one's loss here is very kind. I imagine, however, that there are some more difficult to deal with than others.
no subject
A loss of my sense of touch will hardly debilitate me. Save your apologies for someone else.
no subject
But it does mean that you'll have to be more careful.

I was just wondering...
what floor you were on?
no subject
I was in a hallway when I arrived. I wasn't paying attention.
no subject
I see.
But that's alright. There are nameplates on the doors.
no subject
Hn. Convenient for now, but stupid to have in the long run.
no subject
[a brief pause for thought]
I'm sure you could take it down, if you wanted to.
