They seem to be modeled after some species of birds. The likeness of which I have not seen before. No doubt the rather rude markings on some are not native features. Nothing but paper on silver strings.

The art of their folds and the devotion to their creation was time well spent. Even if they are no more than decorations. To those who created them, it was considerate gesture that I am certain is appreciated.

They're relatively rare in my homeland. And knowing some of the tenant's habits, I can't help but worry for their well-being.

That's because they are kept as 'pets'. Most families take care of those animals like as if they were one of them.

Yes, and they represent longevity.

It didn't stop them from almost dying out in my home...
