[ As soon as the time hits 3:33 AM all the candles blow out at once, the door to the Insolitus flies open, and out rushes a giant shadow dude. Anybody who happens to see him will hear him laughin' a laugh before vanishing into thin air. The chains and locks that kept all of the players trapped now lay next to the open doors and everybody is free to leave. And look at that! By some miracle, or perhaps thanks to your gut instinct, you managed to end up near the exit by the end of the game. ]

[ MAN. That was some party. Gather yourself, your friends, and get the hell out of there. Some of you could use trips to the clinic. ]

[ THE WINNERS? Your prize is your sanity! What more could you possibly want? Ah, well, actually, there are small gift baskets laid out by the exit... with the names of all the "winners," and some candy in them. How about some cute little pumpkin lollipops with pretty pink bows on them? IT'S HALLOWEEN AFTER ALL... Or almost. Still, good job. YOU DID GREAT. Revel in your victory... And maybe, some day, you'll even be able to sleep at night. ]

[ OOC: HOLY SHIT, THANK YOU SO MUCH YOU GUYS FOR AN AWESOME TIIIIME /SCREAMS!!!!!!! ]

This castle is so weird. My pillow being full of candy wasn't exactly the most fun I've had either.

The castle does stuff like this a lot, huh?

Everyone loses things. That's the way it works here, I guess, but the things you lose can hurt you - you know?

Sanya can't I don't have a radio here, so I was wondering what kinds of things you can use instead of radios. This place seems to have way better technology than what I'm used to and . . . I want to surprise Sanya with something she can listen to! I think she gets lonely without a radio.

[after last night's traumas, Larry spent the rest of the early hours of morning at the Lux with the others. By early morning he's been drinking. He's tired. He wants to sleep. But he won't let himself. He's staying where there is light and where there are people. He spent a couple hours just sitting at the piano in the Lux idly playing...nothing. With a glass of scotch in one hand. But somewhere around 5am he will finally open up his journal..]

It starts off small and gets bigger...and bigger....and bigger....and he's watching it and starts to nod off, but jerks back up and slams his pen down, then brings his hands up to rub his face]

[Awkwardly, a hooded figure makes its way through the castle's corridors- or that is, at least attempts to do so. The clack of metal sounds to a halt as the form stops, shifts, and removes the fabric around- now her- head and face.]

Suddenly, Clarice- the woman in question- takes in a sharp breath.]

Miata... Where is Miata? [Another pause -- she's also finally noticed the missing weight against her back.]

My- my weapon's gone, as well?!

[so after getting some sleep -- not great sleep, but sleep nonetheless -- Bela is in the library, which is a first for her in a while. She used to go there for something to do, but now Bela's actually a girl on a mission and she's scanning the shelves for anything she could find on the Midnight Game.

While she remembered the basics fairly well, that still wasn't enough information as far as she was concerned. The library was expansive enough that she either a) would find something and know a little more than she did before, or b) find nothing because the castle doesn't want her to. She's hoping for A. B would only make her want to shoot something.

She's got her journal open on the table a bit of a ways from her -- still in hearing distance in case something goes wrong, but not close enough that she has to worry about accidentally writing in it.

... If she really absolutely finds nothing, she's gonna wind up breaking out the spirit board later, but for right now, she's focused on this.]

I'm really sorry to bother everyone, but I was wondering something! I've been reading a little bit about other worlds lately, and I've been learning that there are all different kinds of religion. If it isn't too much to ask, I would love to learn more about other world's religions. But I understand if it's uncomfortable to talk about... [but still... she sounds curious :3]

[It's now been several hours since her ordeal in Insolitus with the Midnight Man. She's spent the early morning with the others at the Lux, and now she's back in her room. She's exhausted, but she still can't sleep, she still can't shake the hallucinations, of being back there, in that particular operation.]

[She cracks open her journal, intent on trying to lose herself in continuing the in depth report she'd been writing up over the past few days for Noble One in case he ever came in, but instead she just sat looking at it, unable to distract herself from the previous night, seeing his name where she'd written it and seeing him in the hallucination, reaching for the nuke.]

[She can't close her eyes or it would be that much clearer, so instead she looks up at the wall.]

[That damned yellow and white and brown wall with the damned framed picture of a bowl of candy corn. She grabs a coffee mug - emblazoned with happy little candy corns - and lobs it at the picture frame.]

[The journal records the resounding crash and shattering glass, and then her dictating. She'd intended to filter it to York, but in her frustration she forgets. She sounds pissed, but to those discerning it's the kind of pissed that's trying to hide something else,]

Is there anywhere in this goddamned place that's not fucking yellow?

[A tall woman in a navy-blue uniform sidles carefully down the staircase of one of the towers. She has the slightly-confused look of a new resident, and the wary tension of a soldier utterly out of her depth and very, very uncomfortable.]

[A journal hangs open in her hand, and the burble of talk filters through quietly.]

[Despite her careful step, the castle - and its Halloween decorations - conspire against her. A half-melted mass of candy corn on the marble step slips from beneath her feet, and she crashes down with a cry of surprise and pain.]

Ah, damn!

[Rapidly, she gets up, limping slightly, and heads towards the nearest room, in an attempt to hide from any attention her cry may have brought.]

[ the first place she went after that whole Midnight Man ordeal was over was her room. she didn't stop to talk to anyone and when she got to her room? she turned on all the lights and left them on for the rest of the morning. and hey, they're still on now!

the point is, she didn't sleep -- couldn't. she didn't want to bother anyone from home, not looking like this. so she holed herself up in her room for a few hours until she felt as was calm. well, calmer. now she's going to visit her neighbor! ]

So this journal transcribes what I'm saying for others to read...? Although I will admit I am curious to know how this works, precisely, I think there are more pressing matters at hand. My name is Anna Lemouri; where is this place, exactly, and how did we get here? ...Furthermore, has anyone seen anyone else from Al-Revis Academy? Some...might be more identifiable than others [like, say, Flay or Pamela], but I can give names to anyone wanting to know.

[On a chair in the corner of a lobby, Peter is sitting there, doing sudoku of all things. Every few minutes his head starts to droop forward like he's falling asleep, until he jerks upright again, rubs his eyes, and goes back to halfheartedly trying to plug numbers into the boxes.

If you get close enough to see, you'll notice several of the completed puzzles are botched and have at least a few different mistakes in them. Clearly someone is a little tired.]

[Vereesa had heard word of a certain "program" available on "CastleNet" that had something to do with the stars of this world, but many of the words escaped her. Azeroth lacked many of the technologies that residents seemed so familiar with. Still, this instrument intrigued her as she had been wondering about Paradisa's sky not long ago.

She didn't know where to begin to learn how to use a "computer," so she figured that now that she had the time to, she would go straight to the source.]

[To the one who mapped the constellations (Yuki)]

Greetings. My name is Vereesa Windrunner. I have read in the journal that you are responsible for mapping out Paradisa's sky, however it is currently locked in some sort of device that is only accessible to those who know how to use said device.

If you have the time, I would very much be interested in meeting with you. I am unfamiliar with the technology you have used and would greatly appreciate your assistance with it.

[There is a sweet transvestite from Transsexual, Transylvania in your lobby, ladies and gents. His journal just clattered to the ground upon arrival, so it picks up his first few words. He sounds kind of huffy and childlike, with a rising and falling undercurrent of threatening, and surprisingly like Tim Curry.]

--pation!

... wait. Where... oh dear, I didn't feel a transit beam.... there's work to be done, dammit! This is no time for interdimensional kidnappings! I simply don't have the time!

So whoever decided to be smart and transport me here unwillingly, would you please be so kind as to make your demands or desires known? It's more than likely I can deliver, but I assure you that I really do not enjoy being disturbed in the middle of things. It's so very rude and unprofessional. If whatever you have brought me here for is somehow more important than the secret to life itself, though, perhaps we might have something to discuss.

About the Archive

"Paradisa Lost" is the archive of what the journals contained between December 1st, 2006 and January 10th, 2012. On that final day, Paradisa issued new journals, so that the residents could fill them up again. While there are still residents around who have old journals, we have chosen to preserve the old journals here for muns' reference and history.

"Lost" in the title refers to both the old journals that the residents once kept, and also to our move to Dreamwidth from the original Livejournal community, where Paradisa started. It is a fresh start for muns, as well as for the characters.
