[It's as quiet as it gets at night here in Paradisa, save for a soft yawn that Paprika's journal records as she wakes up; of course this looks nothing at all like any patients room she's ever been to, and even less like her own... But she notices the open journal right off the bat and walks over to it, flipping through curiously]

Hmm... Interesting.

[The journal picks up a pondering noise from her before she experimentally grabs a pencil and opens to a blank page. Slowly, she draws something and then...

there's a knock at the door...coming from anyone else's journal; should they choose to answer, this is what they will see~]

[makes an emphatic gagging noise] Are babies supposed to smell funny? I think my baby brother needs to be changed and I'm so not doing it! I'm the big sister: not a potential-poopy-diaper changer, thank you very much!

[hums softly. despite her complains on the baby boy's smell, or what have it, she actually likes the rug rat more than she lets on. she has been asking Santa for a baby brother--not a baby sister; she wants to be the only girl, thanks!--for about five thousand years now, but she knows he'll go away when the week ends. that's full of fail, btw. at least she thinks so.

-- she still isn't going to change his diaper, though, no matter how attached she is. because EW. she totally wasn't that gross when she was a baby, hokai]

So, Paradisa, if this isn't how babies are made--supposedly, a Mommy and a Daddy makes them--then why does my Dad and Sylar have a baby here? I've been thinking about it a lot. There's always a library, right? I need to know as much as I can so when my baby brother grows up, I can explain this stuff to him.

I am still uncertain how I feel about this development. I never meant to be a mother. I've no real aptitude for it, and to find myself one without warning and by a man I've never met is...disconcerting to say the least.

But Titian is...beautiful. I cannot deny that. And yet, I've no doubt the castle will likely take her back, and then what is the point but yet more cruelty?

Dorothea could have taken lessons from this place, I think.

[OPEN POST | The Pillar Fields | backdated to Sunday, May 16th; for anyone still on the trip]

[As the party moves forward, a huge structure comes into view. It's an entire field of rectangular grey pillars, numbering in the thousands. The stone pillars range in height from eight inches to well over forty feet, with the smallest around the outside and the largest to the middle, though some parts vary. It isn't mazelike, but rather more like a grid; straight lines, everything evenly placed.

Entering the structure, as the pillars grow in height and block one's view, eventually, the presence of others disappears. If one stands still, one can feel very alone. Because of the sharp corners, it is easy to sneak up on others.

After the constant feeling of the castle urging everyone to come back, the pillars feel welcoming, despite being cool grey and lifeless in appearance. The draw is magnetic, the atmosphere is energetic; this place harbours a distinct feeling of “fun”.

Residents may be compelled to run around and play tag or hide-and-seek in the grid, no matter how mature or stoic they are. If one listens carefully, they can always hear laughter, and all fear seems to leave people when they enter the place. It’s bizarre, and pleasant, and certainly worth a visit.]

Despite the peculiarity of this situation, and this whole place, really, I do believe that I am somewhat settling into it. Jim is here, as is Dr.McCoy and Nyota Lieutenant Uhura, and they all remember me, as I remember that. I have yet to figure out what the castle has taken away from me, even though that does sound highly illogical. How does a castle take something away from you?

[A picture appears, seemingly to be the start of a smiley face, but the culprit isn't allowed to continue, which leads to whining being heard]

The appearance of Amanda has been quite baffling, as well as surprising. It is fascinating to watch her though, as she shows both traits of my own, as well as some that Jim has, which has blended into a mix that I am not sure whether is a blessing or a curse. She seems to have gotten Jim's sense that there is no such thing as a 'no-win' situation, which basically means that she is stubborn as a mule as one could say. Jim seems thoroughly amused by this fact though, especially when the subject of bath time arose.

Other than characteristic features of mine, she has quite a good grasp of logic, at least as much as a two year old, 3/4 Vulcan can have. She has the brains to become a top scholar too it seems, even if the attention span is currently lacking.

Hungee! [The toddlers voice followed by soft whining]

What do you want?

Cheese!

Alright. I will have to get back to this later.

If anyone has the opportunity to meet me in the kitchen, it would be appreciated. I have not operated the type of machinery that is in it before.

About the Archive

"Paradisa Lost" is the archive of what the journals contained between December 1st, 2006 and January 10th, 2012. On that final day, Paradisa issued new journals, so that the residents could fill them up again. While there are still residents around who have old journals, we have chosen to preserve the old journals here for muns' reference and history.

"Lost" in the title refers to both the old journals that the residents once kept, and also to our move to Dreamwidth from the original Livejournal community, where Paradisa started. It is a fresh start for muns, as well as for the characters.
