Ah, there was something someone told me.

Humans can't help but want other people. No matter how sad or miserable someone's situation or how much they're loved by their family, all we really want is to be accepted by others.

Parents, all they really want is their children to be happy.

...Someone important said that to me with such certainty. I want to believe that, too, dammit.
