First Entry: Mahaado

My heart pounds within my chest.

I fear I am ensnared in some kind of trap, a spell from which I cannot escape. I should have awoken within the spirit of my ka, battle ready and possessing power enough to defeat the one who threatened my Pharaoh. And yet instead I find myself in this place.

The room in which I sit now is quite comfortable; much like my chambers in the palace, though  far less ornate more suited to my personality. This soothes me a bit. There is ample ink, as well as a reed pen and rolls of papyrus similar to the one on which I now write. The window overlooks a vast expanse of green hills. Green...there is such life here.

And yet I fear so much. I fear that while I sit here idle, my god-king is in danger. I cannot be sure that the thief's escape is entirely prevented by stone and walls.

And Mana. My apprentice, my daughter, my sister. She will be in danger as well.

O, gods, show this confused traveler his way.

My king...Is that your penmanship? I feel you, and yet {scribbled out words} the theif could have played a trick...

I am uncertain. My pharaoh, are you truly safe?

It is I, and I am safe, Mahaado. Though, this place has a tendency to confuse us all. It took all my power. I can no longer call on the Gods.

Perhaps I should find you. I have been here for some time and should explain a few things.

You have been stripped of your magic? That {scribbled out words} is difficult to believe. I am unable to summon my ka, and yet I have a few basic magicks left to my name. How can some of my magic remain, and yet you, the sovereign of Egypt, have been robbed of it all?

My king, my heart is glad that you are not harmed. Are any of the others with you? Mana, is she all right?

Yes, it is all gone. And I fear for my friends... I do not know how I will protect them. I feel lost, Mahaado.

Others? The cursed thief is here, but among those we know from Egypt there are no others. However, there are some I think you should meet. Much explaining will need to happen. For now, however, do no speak with Set. He is here, but he is not the Set you kow. Also, there is another me. However he is shorter and cuter.

There is much you speak of that I do not quite understand, my lord [there is "another you"?], and yet I will protect you and all who you cherish. Though my magic has waned, I am still your servant in all things, and I will not leave you in this confusing time.

This place is large and confusing, different from anything I have before seen. Where can I find and meet with you, so that we might speak properly?

Your faith is never failing, and it has been something I appreciate more than you will ever know.

I am in room 707, however we could meet in a common area, if you wish. I think my room would be a better idea. There are those here that I would rather they not listen to what I have to tell you.

Since I'm in such a good mood today, I'll give you some advice: stay out of my way, and even then don't walk the halls alone. You never know if the next 'gift from the Gods' will be a mace to the skull.
