When Phoebe woke up after her escapade into evil... again... she knew above all that she owed Peter an apology. She couldn't imagine how worried he must have been, at the very least. She downed a few aspirin for her pounding headache and took her time showering and getting ready. Delaying the inevitable? Maybe. She'd done this a few times already in her life, and it never seemed to get easier.

Eventually she made it over to his room. She hesitated for a moment before knocking gently.

Phoebe pulled back just enough to look at Peter's face, to let him see how happy she is. She leaned in and kissed him, one hand cupping his cheek.

"I love you, Phoebe," he said against her lips. The words came so easily to him now. And they were definitely worth saying at this particular moment.

No matter how many times she heard him say it it still made her heart flutter. She smiled, sliding her hand around the back of his neck so she could hold him closely. "I love you, too, Peter."

His lips moved into a smile. He loved the way she said that. Carefully he guided her over to a chair so they could sit. He wouldn't bring up what had happened again. Not unless she needed to talk. For now, he was content with just being with her.

Phoebe let him lead her to the chair. It was such a strange feeling. She had woken up that morning with a splitting headache and the memories of turning evil... again... though it was a pretty ineffectual evil this time around. Now she felt lighter than air. She felt closer to Peter than ever before. She was moving in with him, something she certainly hadn't expected. She smiled, looking at him.

"Peter. I'm so happy I met you. You really are incredible."

Well, the goal was to get her mind off the loss, and it looked like Peter accomplished that. He pushed a strand of hair back behind her ear and pressed a kiss against her lips.

"Just don't scare me like that again, okay?" he murmured.

Phoebe smiled and leaned her forehead against his. How did she get so lucky? Really!

"I'll do my best. I wish there was some easy way to know when someone was on a loss. Take out some of the guesswork..."

Peter made a thoughtful humming sound in his throat. "It's usually a change in behavior," he said after a while. "Or their memories are different. It's easier to tell if you know the person." He gave Phoebe a meaningful look.

Phoebe grinned, hooking her legs over Peter's and snuggling against his chest. "That settles it. We can make it through thick and thin, crazy losses and whatever else this castle can throw at us."
