The children were all nestled snug in their beds

What, When, Where: Christmas Eve at Titan's Tower. A sappy, very sappy, dream. Friends and family welcome.
The tree was ridiculous. But then, it was their first Christmas back in Titans' Tower, since they'd reunited – so it was really no use, trying to explain to Kory that she didn't have to go pluck up a Norway Spruce tall enough to rival Rockefeller Center. And then Nightwing did the wiring, and Flash strung up about sixteen billion tiny blinking lights, and of course Donna had, what, eight boxes of ornaments in storage?
Besides, it was worth all the trouble to grapple up to the ceiling, baby daughter clung to his back like a monkey, and let her stick the gold foil star on the very, very top of that tinsel-covered tree.
Now, of course, the order of the evening was to keep the small ones distracted enough that nobody snuck a peek at any presents. For Cerdian this only involved the judicious application of shiny golden baubles. For Lian, well, it was definitely time to break out the hot chocolate and picture books.
"And mamma in her kerchief, and I in my cap/ had just settled down for a long winter's nap." Roy yawned, like a total ham, and pretended to droop sleepily all over the girl in his lap. It made good cover for him to sneak a hand toward Santa's cookies.
